RE: F1 opener 2020

in #f15 years ago

It was indeed a great race and the perfect company whilst I cooked the Sunday roast dinner. I'm not sure I agree that the penalty on Hamilton was too lenient but I do agree it was a valid penalty; I'm not sure what he could have done to get out of the move as he was already off the throttle, hitting the brakes would likely have caused bigger issues and tightening his turn would have been difficult on a car that's already understeering.

Fingers crossed the rest of this already very odd season will be equally as exciting. F1 needs to move on from the processional win/lose in the pit events of the last decade and get back to proper racing. I'm looking forward to the spending caps coming in from 2021 as that will hopefully start to level the playing field once again.

Yeah on reflection you are correct. He couldn't really be expected to tighten the turn. 5 seconds seems appropriate given the impact to Albon's race.

It would be awesome if 2020 could be as good as that race! I also agree the regulation changes and spending caps could make it more competitive which is much needed.
