Driving an automatic is relaxing.

Culture had to take a break today.

Bianca wanted to go to the beach and the beach alone today

I was fine with it. I’m enjoying the beach way more than I thought (as long as there is some shade to hide).

She found a nice beach around a hour away from us so I could drive the van again today.

The van is an automatic btw.

Now, when I was growing up automatics were very rare.

The story went around that automatics were for people that didn’t know how to drive properly. Manual driving was the best for some reason.

And I remember believing that story for a very very long time.

But the strange thing is once you drive an automatic that story becomes a lie pretty bloody fast.

At least for me.

My car at home has a stick but driving this van around on this island all I can think is how relaxing and easy an automatic is.

Just press the gas and go. No hassle. Just easy.

Haha!

One of the things I personally enjoy about growing older is that you slowly discover the bullshit of what you were being told in the past.

This example is just a small one.

I have many stories in this department but I have no time for those because Brasil’s quarter final is about to begin!

Greetings, Exyle

Really man, driving auto car gives a much greater comfort feeling. But one thing I imagine happens to give you immense comfort is in relation to the city streets and Highway roads. The roads there have good asphalt, of quality. I imagine the streets are too. Here, the asphalt does not have its material with so much quality, so it lives giving some "defects", leaving the track full of holes, for example. This, in addition to facilitating accidents, makes the tires of the cars have to be shaped to withstand this type of road. Even though they are molded, they wear fast, making the journey more dangerous, besides being something very devious having to drive by deflecting or passing over holes!!!!!

Thanks for posting good night!!!

thanx

"Just press the gas and go. No hassle. Just easy."

Yes, it's great.
I hope to be buy a Tesla in the near future. Crypto to the Moon, let's go!

Just press the gas and go. No hassle. Just easy.

...🤔

I was wondering when you would show up :).

...especially when you have kids in the car & a coffee on the go!! LOL

@exyle I remember when I was learning to drive, all we had was a stick shift car for me to learn on. So when I got my first car, it was of course, a stick shift. Then when I got an automatic, I kept finding myself, out of habit, trying to hit the clutch and change gears! Have you found yourself trying to do that on your holiday yet?

Yeah it has happened! :)

Good to know I'm not the only one! :)

We really agree on many things, I have a very old car, but it is automatic and I love it, of course I would like to have a newer one, but now it is very difficult, but not impossible, I know I will have it in time, but I do not like the synchronic or lever as you say, I prefer them for more automatic convenience.
With regard to the beach, I laugh a lot because I am the same as you, I love the sea, the beach, but while there is shade, I do not like the sun, I hide from it everywhere, so I know what you feel when you are there
But I admire you, that despite that, please Bianca to take her to the beach so she can enjoy it. Greetings dear friend.

I can't stand manual transmissions. I know that means I need to turn in my man card, but it doesn't make sense with the advancements with automatics and the amount of stop and go traffic. I still don't like CVT's though.

The story went around that automatics were for people that didn’t know how to drive properly.

I noticed the same thing. In US we have probably 99% cars with automatic transmission. I look at it as a huge convenience. When I traveled to Europe, I specifically requested car with automatic transmission. I remember their look 👀 lol. Just like you mentioned, they looked at me with this face, like at someone who doesn’t know how to drive.

These days it is rare to find a manual. I am 42 and I have never even had the chance to drive one. I understand the concept and I think I could do fairly well if I had to, but the opportunity has never presented itself. I have known nothing but automatic transmissions since I was old enough to drive. My wife can drive a manual and she misses it sometimes though.

Manual transmission is faster acceleration but i stopped driving fast when i was about 20 so I don't care anymore. I'll probably buy an old man car next

Yes! We are fed so much bullshit during our early years and it isn't until we truly open our eyes that we actually begin to live our lives. Glad you and Bianca are having a great time!

There are so many things I believed for many years that I later found out were simply not true, or, at the very least, didn't have to be true.

Hope you enjoy the footie as much as the automatic @exyle! 😁

Coming from the states we almost always drive automatic. Most dealers actually charge more for manual cars because there is such a low supply of them.

And this Qtr final match between Brazil and Belgium could've easily been the final. These are the best two teams left in my opinion.

Hi Exyle. I have been driving an automatic for 10 years now. Will get a manual again as you have better control with braking and acceleration. Nothing against them just driving safety I feel better with more control.

Good point. I experienced it myself while moving to the automatic country 6 years ago. Never looked back to manual.
Or am I just getting old?

Dunno, I'm 34 and I feel the same way now...maybe I'm getting old too.

Haha! So true! Jelly of the beach ops you're having! Enjoy the game. You're a great storyteller!

For years I drove a diesel stick shift car (don't judge, this was years before diesel was a bad thing) Then I got an automatic gas! Wow! Why didn't I get one of these years ago! The next thing you will be telling when you get back from holidays is that you have trade your car for an automatic Van! LOL

My next car will most likely be an automatic indeed.

You are right - driving an automatic car is very relaxing , the downside is that it gives people some extra time to text, talk on the phone and other distracting activities. BTW it is a tragic night for Brazil team, it was a tough game that felt like the finals. Am so sad to see my favourite team crush out of the world cup, now I don't know who to support or even if I should watch anymore.

Yeah, it was sad, but they played well.

Hi @exyle , in the moment very upset because Brazil didn't win ,so can't find anything what will i write . I don't know how are feelings to you and Bianca in the moment? But consolation is Brazil played very well.

We are ok!

Way back in the dim dark years gone by, in NZ you got a car licence to drive both transmissions or an automatic car licence for autos only.
The almost forgotten sound of a straight cut gearbox being double-de-clutched down the gears, if done properly, was a treat to hear, and do.

The story went around that automatics were for people that didn’t know how to drive properly. Manual driving was the best for some reason.

And I remember believing that story for a very very long time.

But the strange thing is once you drive an automatic that story becomes a lie pretty bloody fast.

One of the things I personally enjoy about growing older is that you slowly discover the bullshit of what you were being told in the past.
LOL. Indeed we are told many lies like this. My mom always have drove an automatic car so I've known them sine since I was a kid and I'm 34. Maybe automatic cars weren't popular or common in your country, I don't know haha. By the way, by the time you read this, brazil will have lost the game already, sorry about that.

Haha sounds like Bianca as the right idea to spent the holiday at the beach, yea still get that being said often today that automatics are for people that don't know how to drive properly lol @exyle good luck Brasil.

Looking forward to see you experimenting with autonomous cars...

Driving a manual is exciting/engaging.

Mark @exyle Wait until you Find out about some of the Biggest LIES Ever. You are still Young yet but you will find out about them soon enough......

Nice ride thanks for sharing with us

great information for me about such automatic vans. in our country i have no such experience of automatic car driving. @exyle you really enjoyed your life, be happy and stay blessed my friend. you are saying right words.

One of the things I personally enjoy about growing older is that you slowly discover the bullshit of what you were being told in the past.

Yup it's like a pleasure to drive an automatic. I have two cars manual and the other automatic. Driving manual is really annoying. It tires me up totally. It gets me like sleeping. But he manual is great just the accelerator and break. Oy feet in motion. Thanks for sharing.

Well buddy enjoy the time !

Great post!
I have a small gift for you- your portrait:)

the future is all about this and no more people driving on the roads only car will do that for us hahah

Automatic driving is the best of the world, I hate to have to handle sincronico that's what they call it in my country, is much more complicated than it seems! I hope you had a great day on the beach
