My Job Experiences

in #experience7 years ago

Life can’t survive without having a job. Imagine the world without job, nothing would progress and everything will completely stuck. This world forces us to have a job or to live hungry without it. Jobs actually survives us but do we survive our own job? Jobs need some sort of people and skills to accomplish. To know what sort of people we are and what skills we possess we have to know what types of skills we’re pursuing to survive in this universe. Jobs experiences are the result of daily problem solving and sticking to the job for a period of time. Different people have different experiences. This paper is about my experiences facing the job as a legal assistant at a local law firm. At the firm, I’ve learned and experienced a lot of things which I can never learn in school or university.
Firstly, I know how to work as a team. Before I had this job, I used to fear other people and I didn’t like to work with other. Even I had the job, Step by step I started to change following the job. I began to understand how important teamwork is. This change was starting when I had a lot of works but only two hands to do. I felt like a mountain fell upon me. My coworker saw how difficult I was, so he helped me. He not only helped do the work but told other assistant to help me, too. I was so grateful to them. Little by little, I started to understand that teamwork is about filling each other’s gap. I didn’t know everything and so did my coworkers. Since then, everything has been getting better. I help them and they help me; we work together to achieve more.
Secondly, putting myself into work is just like living two different worlds. When we don’t have work, we face very little problems. Our life is mostly full of joys. Yet after having job, our life is changed. When I was in foundation year in university, my life completely relied on my parents. Since I had a job, my life changed. I didn’t spend my parents’ money anymore and tried to work by myself. I felt like the person who I really depended upon is myself. I feel very different from a life which lives dependently and independently. My life till now is just like a two separated lives which one is ended and another begin. This change comes into existence when works come into life.
Finally, working is a practical way of learning. At school or university, learning is focused intensively on theories rather than practice, but working is the practice. There are many things that we’ll never be able to understand unless we experience or do it by ourselves. Just like writing a contract which needs a lot of attention and experiences because we face real people and real problems and we train our own mind to accept and learn new things. That’s why working is more important for new practical way of learning.
In conclusion, my job has changed me, in particular, the way of thinking. It’s not only the way of surviving, but also the way of learning to survive. I would recommend for those who haven’t had jobs, especially those in the university life to find any possible jobs and internships for your own experiences. Only work which brings changes into your life.

Interesting post. Yes life is much more fulfilling with a job.

Yes , it does but life actually involves more than fulfilling with a job because a job is like the source of our surviving. After surviving, what should each is another vital point of this life.
