Expectations...
What does expectation means?
According to Merriam Webster, Expectations means that it is the act or state of expecting :anticipation in expectation of what would happen.
Have you ever experience of expecting something and it turns out you get disappointed?
Yes, Sometimes, you need to expect something for yourself to feed your feelings, ego and mind.
But sometimes, expectations may hurt you so much. Wherein, you'll get disappointed in yourself by not achieving it.
You'll get frustrated thus confused.
With that, don't expect too much into something or else you'll get disappointed.
According to William Shakespeare, “Expectation is the root of all heartache.”
And that's what I learned today.
If you want to travel a little outside of Shakespeare on the subject you might find "The Eightfold Noble Path" or "Time is the Universe" an interesting read. It speaks on how attachment is the root of all suffering whether it is attachment to something from the past or attachment to the idea of an outcome in the future.
