After some unexpected certificate issue delays, the opening of Alpha Booster Packs is now live at http://exodegame.com. Please check out @exodenews' feed and announcement post for more information about the event.
Today I will be deep-diving into the results of opening my own boosters. I started by opening individual packs, one at a time, just to make sure everything was working correctly. Thankfully, all exocylinders were firing flawlessly, and the appropriate cards appeared in my inventory after opening each pack.
The interface allows up to 20 packs to be opened at a time. Since I had 620 packs to open, I attempted to enter 100 in the text box below in order to save myself some time having to go back and forth between the booster opener page and my inventory, but it defaulted back to the maximum value of 20. If you have fewer packs in your inventory than you attempt to open, it will also default back to that number.
After clicking on the unlock button, expect a short delay as the system process your request (especially if you are opening 20 packs at a time), perhaps a second or two per pack. The sound of a pack ripping will sound, and you'll be able to test your luck
You don't actually have to click to flip each of the cards one at a time to receive them. After the initial processing I mentioned above, the cards will appear in your inventory immediately. But I still recommend flipping each individual card, as it will be difficult to determine which cards you drew otherwise, especially if you already have a lot of individual cards from Starter Packs or Contract drops.
The Alpha Booster Pack collection consists of 38 unique Common, 51 unique Rare, 40 unique Epic, and 13 unique Legendary cards, excluding the Elite versions of each (some of these "uniques" are found in the three Starter Packs as well). Of those, I received all of the unique Common, Rare, and Legendary cards, and all but one of the unique Epics. The only Card that was missing was Corporate License (Level S+). I rectified that with the first-ever eXode card trade.
The Loot Table for booster packs is highly favored towards Common and Rare cards, and I ended up with a large number of duplicates of those.
- 65% chance to be Common
- 30% chance to be Rare
- 4% chance to be Epic
- 1% chance to be Legendary
In all, of the 3100 cards I drew, I ended up with 1953 Common, 1005 Rare, 103 Epic, 39 Legendary cards, 68 of which were Elite. That's 62 less Common, 75 more Rare, 21 less Epic, 8 more Legendary, and 6 more Elite cards than the odds would have predicted.
The actual drop percentages ended up mostly in line with the expected results.
- 63.00% Common
- 32.42% Rare
- 3.32% Epic
- 1.26% Legendary
- 2.19% Elite
All in all, I am quite happy with the results. Now it's a waiting game for my Rekatron, Tom Settler, and Syndicate Contracts to drop the cards I'm missing from those collections. Feel free to peruse my current full collection over at eXodegame.com. Good luck on your own booster drops, Captains!
Huge collection there captain!, will be interesting to see how the aliens beat some builds that big holders have (if they manage to do it), almost seems impossible to them to kill one colony with that lol.
I still expect to face some issues, as you can only load so many cards to each run, and it'll take some time to figure out ideal lineups. You can get by that somewhat by airdropping, but dropping Epic and Legendary cards won't be a great go-to option.
No those won't be dropped, is more useful to drop rares or commons that will give more value to those cards 😄.
