Yeah, just gives any would be attacker a little bit more to think about and whilst they are thinking they are not attacking.
Indeed, plus I guess the usual attacker's IQ doesn't run into double figures so he'll be stumped for those extra 'vital' seconds ;)
It's actually a good tactic to use, distract them with questions. So if they say "give me your wallet" ask them "What you going to buy with it?" Then whilst they are thinking about it you knock em out, kick em to the ground and walk calmly away.
I've never got around to it (probably cos pockets are so dang full anyway) but I should carry a 'spare' wallet for such an occasion.
