I actaully mined my coins so I created and exported my key from my miner (long since disassembled). I currently access my cold storage with Electrum.

I have created and given paper wallets. as mentioned in that quote above. They can be spent from using Electrum. Or if it's not a significant amount, blockchain.info offers wallets and an import function for private keys <-- but keys should never be typed into a live, online, site.

Risk is risk. I would do it for a hundred dollars worth of bitcoin. But I have seen too many sites hacked in my day.
