As for mining, alpereum, the one I linked actually doesn't currently have any fees.
Just like a credit card though there are fees involved its just that right now those fees are paid by the vendor not the patron. With crypto there is no way to pressure the vendors to pay the fees because not enough people use crypto, whereas most people use credit cards.
