Casper Will Signal the first Excel Blockchain Ledger

in #ethereum7 years ago

If you did not understand my recent concerns with incompetency & ETH, Casper will signal the age of the Excel blockchain ledger.

This tweet should give you an idea where it's headed.

There will be alternatives. Qtum, EOS, and ETC. Three projects that will have a chance to dethrone the incumbent.

This is entirely out of context and very deceptive Joseph...
Vitalik was in a conversation with a bunch of trolls and was making a point. You should see the entire conversation here:

There will be alternatives. Qtum, EOS, and ETC. Three projects that will have a chance to dethrone the incumbent.

The point you are trying to make apply to all of these. Don't know what you are talking about.
You raise points about the 'mutability' without reasonable discussion about why that is a worry in the first place.

Take a look here to see what Vitalik was actually talking about.

I don't know why you get 500 bucks for this....

It's important to know what the limits are for an ETH rollback. https://t.co/lzToQwn4tf

Disclaimer: I am just a bot trying to be helpful.

This clearly is an excerpt from a whole conversation. Totally disregarding the entire point Vitalik was trying to make.

Yeah... unacceptable. 500 bucks cause he pumped EOS too lol..

Can you explain the totally? Please. I'd like to know.

There is no argument. Vitalik said that, and Nick Szabo took it out of context.
"How" is not important. Some went as far as calling him a troll, so imagine that.

Excel always reminds me of my fav EXCL coin which is up today nicely

:D I remember that. I think I was still using IRC at the time.

Exclusive coin seems to be a great concept. Its nice to actually see a token backed by something other than bs.

Too many too big companies trying to get a grip. The bigger you get, the slower you are; and not to think about the exorbitant growing ETH Blockchain... - some worrisome signs ahead! When your only APP is to be an ICO-token, it won't work out in the long run!

I agree. Any token that can have 100 % swings in days that isn't a new offering scares the crap out of me.

I love it slow but steady! Any fast driven price action isn't healthy in the long run. "As quick they come, as fast they go!" I'm investing only in products/applications/currencies that have real value, as Monero has for its privacy, BTC because of its security, DigiByte because of e-sports, etc. The choice will always be mine, not ever driven by a hype nor by fear! Cheers!

Nice tip and important info to be aware of, thanks for sharing! Namaste :)

Congratulations @joseph!
Your post was mentioned in my hit parade in the following category:

  • Pending payout - Ranked 7 with $ 655,53

Cheers for your thoughts/warnings in regards to the ETH hype.

Steem on @joseph

WOW, the crypto world is changing so fast these days lol

This is misleading. You should know better. Vitalik was talking about the protocol automatically deleting attackers' deposits. If the Ethereum devs wanted to create a centralized proof-of-stake system, they wouldn't be developing Casper in the first place; they could simply use checkpoints like existing PoS currencies.

Thank for the information.. keep strong babe

Looks like I need to do some research on what Excel / Casper. So ETH has serious competition?

There is nothing about excel. Joseph is saying that because Ethereum transactions are 'mutable' in his opinion - Ethereum is nothing different than Excel. Casper is the POS consensus system that is being worked on for implementation into Ethereum.

I hope more players can become interwoven with the ETH chain. ETH is not the only blockchain worth anything.

Still with ETH, the real world applications are currently being tested and used based on etheruem block chain. Now as far as "philosophy" is concerned there is centralization happening in these network.its true for bitcoin as well.Mining is now limited to large corporation. Same will be tru to Ether as the block chain grows.besides this whole talk of "pure decentralization is absurd". A fully decentralized system cannot work efficiently...think about lawless land..its the human nature. apart from business side of things some kind of censorship ,monitoring and control by government and authorities is bound to happen

A.I. should move in to solve the problem, I guess...hehehe...

There is clear explanation who is "we" in that tread below. It is protocol. Every person who is going to be validator knows the conditions of slashing. All this noise is clear illustration of Gun Sirer's cryptohooliganism term

I'm not really sure what this means? Can you explain what this means in "dummy" terms?

A double spend attack which is mistakenly called a 51% attack is what every blockchain seeks to prevent to maintain the integrity of it's ledger. Tampering with account balances was never considered a defense to such an attack, what is worse is the suggestion that a blockchain can survive these attacks if they only happen once in awhile.

What makes u even think? I dont understand why people think vitalik makes such decisions. Its not like he will have control over stakeholders just like he does not have control over miners.

If he does not have control over stake holders, there will be a solution. "We" just edit their balances and go on. But seriously now, if you want to continue looking the other way, it's fine. If that statement does not concern you, it should.

u don't just edit anything without consensus. And yes as long as decisions are driven by consensus it is within the design of the system.

Again i would love to understand your concern. But please be reasonable and state your issue, without being drama and propaganda type claims.

I like that you are bringing some reason to this post. Earned my follow.

You don't understand what vitalik was taking about. The 'tampering of balances' you refer to is staked Ether. If you are a validator acting malisciously the Casper contract will take your money. Plain and simple. That is how POS works.

what is worse is the suggestion that a blockchain can survive these attacks if they only happen once in awhile.

This is false and not what vitalik was talking about.

The Ethereum top man just admitted that he has no problem erasing someone's Ether account. He will be the judge and executioner. If this capability exists, it's a matter of time until censorship is implemented on the ethereum blockchain. Perhaps this explains the huge industry support of late, most of which are known for enjoying positions of power and monopoly.

No he is referring to the Casper contract. When there is an attacker on the network, their staked funds will be deleted.

And the Russian government find this interesting, because? That government loves censorship and control. So what benefits do they see? And is that something to worry about? One of the best tools government has today to control people is to take away there money.

They obviously see the economic benefits cryptocurrency can bring to their country.

This has nothing to do with censorship and control. I do not think it is anything to worry about. I have not seen anything troubling in Russia or China.

first Excel Blockchain Ledger?wooh ...Awesome!

Actually it could be fun, if you are a good actor Vitalik can move the ETH from a bad actor to your account.

I hope you know this is sarcasm. ETH is in no way proof of vitalik... if you think it is you are woefully nieve

Crypto innovation is so fast. My trust is on EOS. But if I could, I'll diversify to QTUM as well.

Too many people trying it man ...

This is another example of folks accusing etc of something whithout explaining the logic.

What exactly do u mean by incompetency?

Excel is an awesome program. Blockchain and Excel is a new concept to me.

Excel is awesome? Let me laugh a little bit HAHAHAHAHA

I have been following your recent posts, and I fret a lot everytime. Almost half of my crypto investment is in ether. So if anything happens to ether, I am gone from crypto world. But I still upvote you as you provide some insight of market and my favourite coin.

My concerns are for people like you. I do not want to see anyone hurt by putting all their money on one project. If you invested before the bubble, you should be sitting on some nice profit. Also some recent projects allowed for some nice profits/returns for ETH holders, if you are not making use of that, you should.

Well I don't know much about other projects. I have bought ether when it was 17$, in its adolescent days. Now it is getting younger and younger day by day, I have a lot of hopes in it. I don't know why but i believe in it more than any other coin.

And I think that it could be the top coin in crypto world in a few years. I may sound too much optimist but I believe a lot in what I do.
Still I like to hear what people has to say about it, so that if one day my belief in it stumble a bit, I could take my investments off before it goes down, but till then I am holding it.

My concerns are for people like you. I do not want to see anyone hurt by putting all their money on one project.

Thanks for that and I appreciate it. That's why I have started to observe your posts closely. And started following you.
Though I haven't put all my money in ether, but still half of it is in it. And it is huge for a middle class guy like me. So if some bad thing happen, I will face a huge loss for the things I have planned for my future.
Thanks for the heads up.

You should check out some of my recent posts on ETC. Joseph is a trader who might not understand why transactions are not reverted and how the security of POS works. He calls developers incompetent without any merit.

Sure I will check your posts.

And followed you too see what you will write and predict in future.

Good points. They do not support your previous arguments.

Thanks for keeping us updated!

What a great post .. all the roads needs a view before to decide , your point is a big other point of the possible ETH future .... only time can right or not you... but i think your post are in a good view of the situation and start to follow you. The centralized decisions are dangerous for all the human and no human things.

I like this post :) it is good to read :)

Please follow me 😊 I follow you as well thanks

A block chain ledger based on excel ? Talk about antiquated. I thought we were migrating towards a more secure platforms to house and transact our crypto currency, but this just seems backwards.

Hey guys I just posted my first article if you have chance get you check it please it would appreciate that so much it'll be huge help to me and what I'm trying to do

Interesting idea.

Spectacular friend excellent post very good this information for the whole community congratulations @joseph
