In an interview with Business Insider,
McGovern talks about his knowledge in blockchains.

Missing the point somewhat. They have very different use cases and the price is an irrelevance as you are assigning the price per token, which is infinitely divisible (at least in theory).
I can agee with you at a surtain degree.
I Do believe that Ethereum will be the king of the hill in the long run. Tho, to create balance there has to be more than just one big currency, just as with Fiat-money today. We have USD and EUR as two of the major currencies. And i believe that we Will have Ethereum and Bitcoin as the equals in cryptocurrencies.
Ethereum is not a currency. It has a different use case. It was not designed to be a financial instrument (although it can serve as such). Bitcoin was designed for this. I am not saying one is better than the other, I am saying they are different. Bitcoin also has first mover advantage. Alts are all well and good but at present, the only coin that is recognised outside of the crypto community is bitcoin. The only coin that is accepted outside of an exchange (and this is still extremely limited) is bitcoin. That could change, but it will be an uphill struggle for other coins as bitcoin has a degree of brand recognition with the wider population.
You are 100% right about the fact that Bitcoin has first mover advantage and also that it's the only cryptocurrency recognized outside crypto community. BUT I believe this will change, sooner rather than later. Within the coming year I would believe.
Why do I believe this? Because the 1st car company that manufactured cars, are not market leader today. Technology constantly evolves and with ethereum, it's possible to co-evolve!
