The one is that it has no real applications so far unlike steemit, and it is definitely not user-friendly. Every time when I remember my long attempts to download new blocks in order to stay up to date for The DAO voting process through Mist makes me shiver).
I'm staying out of anything Ethereum for now until the dust settles. This is all one big mess and I don't see how it can be anything but negative towards Ethereum as a whole. Maybe ETC will go up and ETH will go down, but the combined market cap is going to tank.
What happens is that all ETH owned on the chain before the HF are now on the NEW chain ( Hard forked one ) but also on the OLD chain : ETC .
For example : I just found some of my old balance in ETC , just because it was there ( free !? ) ... what will I do with it ? SELL it and get it on my ETH wallet , as that IS the real chain that will be maintained , and ETC still has some value now.
there is no way to know now if the hard forked chain will be maintained, most likely they will both be maintained, and since the ETC is cheap right now, it's a good buy
