Geese are birds that are easy to maintain and disease resistant. However, to get good results the farmer must take care of his livestock seriously. Breeders should have a compassion for their livestock. That affection is shown in his diligent care of the health and hygiene of the environment, feeding and drinking enough, and watching the behavior of each goose is kept one by one.
5 COMPLETE GUIDE HOW TO LIVE CULTIVATION TOP TOP
TERMS OF LIVESTOCK
Although swans are good swimmers, there is no need for ponds and rivers to maintain them because goose life is not dependent on aquatic places. Geese can be nurtured anywhere, either on the beach, on mountains or on dry land. What is important if there is no food available for the goose then we provide enough food.
Since swans can make loud noises that may irritate neighbors, swans should not be kept in densely populated settlements. Goose is a forage eater like grass and vegetables. Availability of a large yard or field will facilitate the maintenance of swans.
DEVELOPMENT
Goose mains can be nurtured and placed anywhere, like behind the house, united with cows, sheep, chickens, or ducks. However, we should have prepared a place for maintenance before the geese that we will keep coming.
If we have a large enough page provide some of the fenced around. In that place we built a swan cage and shelter shack. The goose cages serve to nurse and raise goose children until they can be grazed, while shaded huts are used for bedding and goose sheds.
APPEARANCE
The goose cage does not need to be good which is important must be dry and can prevent the wind from entering directly. We can use a cage for a chick or a closed building. If a little goose is kept, for example five, we can use a cage. If the goose we keep is enough we have to provide a closed building like a chicken coop or a duck cage.
A goose cage can be a box with wooden frames and walls and topped from bamboo, wood or wire bamboo. In the box we give a 40-watt lamp so the swan gets food and water easily. In addition, lights are also useful as warmers.
Cages for swans can be shaped like chicken coops or ducks. Building materials can be made of wood or bamboo. The walls can be made from bamboo or wire girders, while the top can be tiles, rumbia, zinc, or asbestos. Floor building can be from soil, wood, or cement. Preferably the floor is made of cement because the goose will be healthy and the cage easy to clean.
FEEDBACK OR NAUNGAN
Mother swan requires shade or protection against the sun or rain. The shade for swans is very simple. The shade, other than useful for sleeping, also for marriage and laying. Therefore, the size must also be considered.
One of the bad swans is to mix eggs in one nest. The eggs from the different parent are incubated by one parent. If there are eggs that hatch the swans do not want to incubate other eggs that have not hatched yet.
To prevent this, you should make special places for goose eggs. Laying places can be shaped boxes that are arranged in rows. Each box should be fitting in size for a single goose, which is approximately 30 x 30 x 30 cm. Number each box, and fill the box with a straw or grass pad. Place the box where the egg is laying under the shade or inside the cage.
MAINTENANCE OF ANGSA
If the seeds we buy are swans, we will have no difficulty in caring for them. However, if we keep the swans, especially the newly hatched swans, we need better preparation because the conditions of the swans are still weak.
If the kept goose is kept little in a small cage equipped with a lamp. If the swans are kept sufficiently numerous, keep them in a cage using a barrier. Before the swans come prepare the cage or cage well. Brush walls, ceilings, and floors. Use soap especially for washing the floor.
Heater in the form of electric lights or oil lamps, if the swans are kept less than a week old. Use a 40 watt lamp and hang it in the middle of the cage box or the cage about 9-12 cm above the floor. Use lights to taste and adjust the height of the lamp in such a way as to provide comfort for the swan. Hang a thermometer near the lamp, exactly the same height as the goose's back. The thermometer is useful for measuring air temperature, with a thermometer known precisely the temperature level (heat) suitable for a goose.
Overheated geese children are usually anxious, noisy, away from lights, and mutually patched (cannibalism). At the time of mutual patuk usually one goose goose poke the other goose to the wound and bleed. The wound attracted the other goose sons to peck so that the punctured goose died. Cannibalism also occurs due to a cage that is too dense so that the swans are crowding. Or, not enough food and drinking water so the swans are scrambling to get it.
Inside the cage the goose should be a border, just under the lamp. The limit can be made of cardboard or bamboo slats strung together. Barrier height is approximately 30 cm. Put the barrier on the floor. The lamp should be located in the middle.
These barriers can make a swan close to a source of heat, food and drinking water, and prevent the wind from blowing directly onto the floor. The barrier should be able to stand upright so as not to collapse and injure a swan.
The goose can panic or surprise if struck by a loud noise, for example by the sound of thunder. At the time of panic the goose will run in the same direction. If this barrier is made square, swans will be stacked in one corner. The swans overlap and the overlaid can breathe hard and die. Things like this will not happen if the divider is a circle.
If we have placed a barrier on the floor give the base (litter) in the form of sawdust, rice husk, peanut shell or straw that is chopped 4-6 cm thick. This sown litter should be clean, dry, and can absorb water so it can provide warmth for the swans. If the litter is wet or dirty, take the dirty part, then replace it with a clean, dry litter.
By the time the goose is grown, enlarge the boundary area so that the swans get enough free space. Then, add the litter into it. After a few weeks when the swans no longer need a barrier, the swans can be removed from the cage, Do not use newsprint, plastic, or any other materials that have slippery surfaces for the pedestal. A slippery surface can make a goose's foot wound so limp.
Put a place to eat and drink inside the barrier so easily reached by the goose. Drinking places should be made of plastic or other non-rusting materials. Plastic drinking places are easily available in poultry shops. If there is no poultry shop we can make a drink from coconut shells or from bamboo segments. Places to eat can be made of wood, bamboo, or zinc. Places to eat from zinc can be purchased at the poultry shop.
The day before the geese come, turn on the lights and measure the air temperature on the floor with the thermometer hung on the spot. To create the right air temperature in accordance with the needs of the goose boy, we can do it by trial and error, that is by adjusting the height of the lamp. The temperature suitable for a goose is usually 99 ° F or 372 ° C.
GIVE ANIMAL CHILD EATING
The newly hatched swans can last up to 72 hours or 3 days without eating or drinking. Resilience is there and can live long enough because after hatching in the body there is still residual food absorbed from the yolk in the egg in question before hatching. Therefore, do not hesitate if we carry or transport a goose through a long journey as long as the travel time does not exceed 3 days.
However, it does not mean that the goose will be left alone after hatching. Give the goose a child to eat and drink immediately. Preferably, food and drinking water is readily available before the toddler is placed in a barrier (artificial parent).
At the beginning (starters) goose children should be given high protein foods (22 percent). It can be food for starter duck, or broiler starter that can be bought at cattle feed stores. If the fodder store is far away, we can feed the goose as follows.
• 2 piece fish meal
• 3 corn flour
• smooth bone 1 part
Fish meal can be replaced with snail flour, snail flour, or clam flour, peanut meal, coconut meal or tofu pulp. Corn flour can be replaced with cassava flour or wheat flour. The flour is not too smooth.
