Flag Ceremony, Activities to Grow National Character Values in Schools

Every Monday, in every educational institution - especially the school - held Flag Ceremony activities on the morning before the Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM) begin. Including in elementary school, SD, SMP / MTs and SMA where I teach- Flag Ceremony has become a routine activity held every Monday.

Today, Monday (06/08/2017) MTs Ulumuddin again held the Flag Ceremony. Incidentally, my class (class IIIA) had the turn to become a ceremonial officer. On this day, there were 16 people from class IIIA students who were chosen to be ceremonial officers. They served as (1) readers of the flag ceremony (MC); (2) ceremonial regulator; (3) the leader of the ceremony; (4) the bearer of the Pancasila text (adjutant); (5) flag raisers (3 people); (6) readers of the 1945 Constitution; (7) prayer readers; (8) conductor / conductor; and (9) troop leaders (6 people). While those who have not been elected as the officer, served as a choir team.

I take the example of some activities in the Flag Ceremony that have the values of this nation's character. The first is raising the Red and White Flag. There are noble values that can be grown in this flag-raising activity. For flag raisers, there is a value of mutual cooperation and togetherness that can be taken when carrying out their duties. They must be accustomed and able to harmonize their body position and hand swing movements and pound their feet. One of the flag officers must have no different movements and attitudes. If there is one, then the implementation of the flag ceremony can be declared unfavorable. This is because the raising of the Red and White is the spirit or core activity of the implementation of the Flag Ceremony.
