Of course at first sight it's a very normal tree like many others. But look better. This is the majestic Baobab.
It can reach 20-25 meters in height and the trunk diameter can reach 7-10 meters and it can live for thousand years, like Panke, originally from Zimbabwe, of an estimated age of 2450 years.
It is recognizable at first glance thanks to the large trunk'shape so disproportionate to the foliage, but it is the punishment due to his arrogance, according to an old African legend. So one day the Forest God decided to eradicate it from the ground and turn it upside down, so as to show only its roots out of the ground.
However, despite the legend the Baobab remains the most majestic tree on earth and the symbol of Africa.
And I want to end with this wonderful African proverb :
'Wisdom is like a Baobab tree; no one individual can embrace it.'
