@tatoodjay challenges us to go on a brief 5 minute walk on Wednesdays and take photos of the interesting things we see.
I'm starting my walk this morning going out the back door. The back deck seems particularly quiet today. For the past two days I have not had a single Oriole come to the feeder. It amazes me each year that when it is time for them to migrate they just simply vanish overnight.
But the hummingbirds are still here
The hostas are blooming beautifully along the flagstone path that leads me to the front yard
The goldenrod reminds me that autumn is imminent.
And the hydrangea is starting to get a pink tinge to it.
I hear the garbage truck in the neighborhood, so I better get my cart out there to the end of the driveway. But first, my don't forget to look up picture!

I am enjoying them while I can! We will have our first frost in another month or so and then everything will be dead.

Mostly it is still green. But there are a few leaves that have started to fall.

I've gotten pretty good at choosing what kind of plants will grow good here after 17 years of making mistakes. With the bleak time of year rapidly approaching I have to soak up as much color as I can.
Your deck is decorated beautifully Melinda. Haha, it is funny we both posted golden rod and a spider today....you know what they say about great minds.. 😊

It is immediately outside the backdoor. I spend a lot of time there. I did add a filter to the photo to add some warmth.
I love your place, it's full of flowers, the perfect place to enjoy each season.
It is easily accessible for me and I do spend a lot of time out there.It helps me not miss gardening!

You have such an interesting range of plants and flowers at your place @melinda010100 and your deck looks wonderfully inviting with the beautiful trees in the background and the flowering potted plants to adorn the entire area.
As you get ready to welcome autumn we are getting ready to embrace (if that's possible) summer.
Thanks, Trudee! I need to spend some time out there pruning back some of the growth on the plants so that they're more manageable to bring them in the house before our first frost. I was counting and there are seven that I will need to make room for in the house. I really dislike house plants, but I feel like such a murderer if I leave them out there!
I love the way you think Melinda and it just proves to me that you have a very kind heart. It's actually healthy to have a plant or two (or 7) inside the house so you will benefit in more ways than one.
In the end I'll probably give in and bring in 15! They all look so lovely and have done so well with all the rain we have had this summer. I'll be the healthiest person you know!
