We are pleased to announce next release of eSteem mobile for iOS, Apple devices. This release has some new changes as well as number of bug fixes, performance improvements. Update should be available within few hours depends where you are located and appstore crawling schedules. If you want to report a bug, issues or suggestions, make some tutorials feel free to do them via Utopian in here eSteem or do it directly in Github issues page. You can download APK for Android and IPA for iOS directly from official github releases page, you can also build your local version from github, don't trust other sources to download application!
What's eSteem
For those who find eSteem related post first time and don't know what eSteem is: It is first mobile application on top of Steem! eSteem offers some of the unique features (Bookmarking, Post Drafts, Image upload/capture, Personal Gallery, Notifications, Activity manager, many more tweaks, features) for mobile users!
eSteem supports multi-currency where you can see post rewards in any currency you like (BTC, USD, EUR, RUB, GBP, JPY, KRW, INR, CNY etc.), multi-language (58+) where you can use app in any language you are familiar with, multi-account where you can add more than one account and easily change between accounts, multi-chain where you can use both Steem and Golos chains, multi-notifications where you can get notification for your multiple accounts for following activities Vote, Follow, Unfollow, Mention, Comment, Reblog, Transfers, Scheduled post publish, etc!

I've just catched the release for my old iPhone! Working fine for now and looks more clean here and there. Haha! It's fun to see my friends feed is flooded with my "No image" images!
I would suggest to change that pink cover image overlay to something neutral (maybe original eSteem blue color will suit but a 50% saturated to gray?)

Could you elaborate more, log in eSteem ?
I'm trying to login using the advanced setting by scanning the posting bar code. The app just hangs forever once I press login.
You should make sure that you are connected to alive server. Settings page and see if Server field has green check if not, change to the one which has green check and save changes. Try again login!
Problem is on the Steemit side. Bar code does not change when private key button is pressed. I assume the bar code only works for public key. Once I copied and pasted I was good.
The settings and advanced login screens are buggy. Both jump the cursor down a line after typing so the cursor is no longer in the text box.

Hi @good-karma! I'm using the eSteem app and it works well overall. Question: @exyle did a post the other day saying never to log in with your master key, only your posting key and the active key when transferring funds. Then the master key is just for if you want to change the keys. I'm pretty sure I wasn't able to log in to eSteem with just the posting key, unless I got it wrong. Is it possible on eSteem (I can try again later)? And what do you think of that as a security measure overall? Thanks! (I'm on Android btw)
You have option to login with only Posting Private key, please select Advanced login option... Application is opensource and can be audited by anyone and I have made posts in past about overall eSteem security and how to make sure you are using correct version and how to keep your funds safe, etc.

Couldn't the serves be changed automatically in order to give the best performance, it's kind of a hassle to change them by hand. And a lot of people don't know about this and say the app is working badly.
That's something to consider in future releases. If selected server failed to return results select next available server...

@good-karma While it is always good to see an update, I am sorry to report that this update does not fix the performance issues.
The app continues to be painfully slow on iOS.
Let me know if you need any help testing the app performance. I'm glad to help out.
Also, it stopped working on my secondary iOS 9 iPad. While the update was available for it, launching the app brings just a empty white screen.
Waiting patiently for the next release.
Hi @apostolou, thank you for your message. As I mentioned in earlier comment, we are thinking to deprecate support for iOS 9.3 and below due to outdated device api and security measures. We can reconsider with next release if we find proper solution to evaluate some changes...

The great news about eSteem App, and the programmer behind it, is that he's somewhat a perfectionist... (even if he doesn't realize it).
When he codes something, he feels the 1,000's of users using the app, and waiting for its next update. He does it because he can, and he enjoys when people use his creation.
He is even happier when people appreciate the work he's done, by downloads, upvotes, or even just compliments in comments.
I don't know good-karma in person. But I don't have to.... he gives a large portion of his life for others.. in what he does.. the long nights he spends doing what he does.
He's an app developer that talks to the users. He's not hidden behind a wall. He's approachable.
App developers like good-karma is someone I treasure, and we need more people like him.

I have used esteem extensively on my commute and love it. However, recently, it struggles to load. Iam operating on a 4G signal and not Wi-fi admittedly but I have no issue with the browser version of my device. For me it’s key that esteem is light enough to operate when out of Wi-fi range.

I didn't know about esteem when i saw it while looking for steemit app but now I know.. I was using browser on my phone to reply a comments and read some article but so slow.. thank you for letting us know about eSteem its more faster and cleaner.. makes everything more easier to communicate to the community .. I'm on android and working well.. Is there a post promotion in this app I can't find it maybe not in here..

Frankly, I'm really looking forward to the eSteem update for the android version, because the last few days I was very difficult to interact with eSteem service version 1.5.0 even though have tried to replace the server as recommended @good-karma in the previous post.
I hope with the emergence eSteem 1. 5.1 android version will soon give ease of access, because I already love to die with eSteem.
I am very overwhelmed when I have to post via STEEMIT web version.
