Texas - AT & T announced that Dallas, Atlanta and Waco in Texas will be the first 3 cities to enjoy 5G technology this year. AT & T is an international telecommunication company headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, United States. Earlier in the year the company plans to ship 5G networks to 12 cities by 2018.
Senior Vice President of AT & T Wireless Network Architecture and Design at AT & T, Igal Elbaz, said that his company is supposed to contribute and have already tested. "Literally this will change the technology network for the future," he said, as reported by the GSM Arena page.
According to him, 5G will be used based on 3GPP standards and operate on the mmWave spectrum. Once this system can be used, he expects the transfer rate to be several gigabytes per second.
Smartphone operators and manufacturers are starting to work to deliver the ultra-fast connection. "Two weeks ago, Qualcomm announced that at least 18 OEMs and a dozen telecoms, including AT & T plans to commercialize 5G phones by 2019," Elbaz said.
