Before Him

Perspective is hard to get.

People often ask for things in prayer to God. When a person desires something in his life, there can be that natural feeling of wanting it as soon as possible. This can lead to wondering, or even asking, why God is taking so long to bring into reality what you have faithfully asked of Him. Sometime you even wonder if it is coming at all. When things in our lives are seemingly going bad, it can be easy to ask why God hasn’t dropped His almighty hand on all of your problems and carried you to the highest highs in life yet.

God does not work the way we do. We will never truly understand the way God can work in our lives, as mere humans, all his mysterious ways are beyond us.

A simple way to gain perspective and begin to trust God more is to consider; Where was I before I found Him?

Who were you, and what sort of life were you headed towards before you met God? What sort of fruits was your life bearing? Did you have peace or any sense of true happiness?

Now that you have given God an amount of control in your life, how much has He changed you? How far has He brought you?

These thoughts alone can be enough to make a God loving person want to jump and sing and start to praise Him. When you look back, you have amazing perspective, you see the way God has influenced your life… Though things happened gradually and sometimes now in the way you might have expected, somehow the amazing fruits started to come… and finally you understand just a little bit more, that God works in His own ways…. All you need to do is entrust Him with your entire life… Honor Him in all aspects, subject yourself to His will… then just trust Him, like a young child trusts his father.

Don’t fear money, loneliness or the enemy… because no matter what takes place, you have given yourself to God and His ways have power over your life. What you see right in front of you right now has no bearing on what you will be in the future. If things seem to be going slow, or not going at all, do not let it worry you… Got does not have a hasty heart as we do, and He is always perfect with timing… just trust.
