Hi guys,
I am here with an educational post.
I assume that you guys all know about gears. Gears are used in all the places where power transfer is needed.
Gear terminology
pitch circle :- It is an imaginary circle which by pure rolling action produces the same effect as the actual gear.
pitch point :- it is the point of contract between the pitch circles of two gears in mesh.
pitch surface :- it is the surface of an imaginary rolling cylinder. At pitch circle which may be considered to have been replaced by the toothed gear.
clearance :- It is the difference between the dedendum of one gear and the addendum of the mating gear.
pressure angle :- It is the angle between the line of action and the common tangent to the pitch circles. The load or pressure between the gears is transmitted along the line of action.
I hope you all enjoyed reading will be back soon with more educational stuff.
