EOS token now trading on the Bitfinex Exchange. This is the 5 minute price chart in the first few minutes. EOS opened down but made a slow and steady recovery and is now around around $1.575 per token.
Bitfinex is not the first but the second exchange that I am aware of to commence trading in the EOS token. EOS token started trading on the HITBTC exchange on 28 July 2017. Read my post “EOS Token Now Trading on HITBTC” for more information.
Here is an excerpt from the announcement from Bitfinex dated 25 June 2017.
On Saturday July 1, 2017 we will be adding support for EOS (EOS) exchange trading through EOS/USD, EOS/BTC, and EOS/ETH pairs. Margin trading for EOS pairs will be enabled in the coming days as the order book develops suitable liquidity.
Bitfinex being one of the largest if not the largest fiat dollar crypto trading exchange is confident enough to list the EOS token at such an early stage. Are you encouraged by this to participate in the ICO or to buy the tokens from the exchanges?
They continue with a glowing introduction to EOS and you can read it here.
EOS is currently trading on the HITBTC exchange for $1.31 per token. See the price chart below.
The token are currently being traded on the exchanges at a premium. The price of the EOS token following the closing of the first period of the token sale is $0.4156 according to http://eosscan.io/. So the tokens being traded on the exchanges are trading with a heavy premium.
Does the early listing of the EOS token gives credence to the credibility of the team behind EOS? Should you get them while you can? Maybe the team at EOS want to see the future with the exchanges providing a glimpse of what may come? Will the listing on the exchanges help temper the FOMO for these tokens.
By the looks of thing, FOMO may even increase if the prices on the exchanges steadily go up which look like it will do but only time will tell.
Granted the EOS ICO is being run for a longer time frame but what is a few ETH to a mighty whale. I am certainly buoyed by the support Bitfinex and HITBTC is giving to EOS. This could possibly means great things yet to come.
man, this eos token is spreading to a lot of exchanges, glad i bought it, thank you for the info!
I didn't get in on the first round but looking at things maybe I should - probably FOMO setting in!
If you have bad cases if FOMO, buy ripple before they are being used by the majority of the banks in the world
Ummmmm...ripple the bankster coin...not sure about that! If the systems does go down then I think the banks may want to dump coins to increase liquidity - my guess. Or maybe to buy some just to hedge my bets.
across border transactions in 4 seconds, handles 1000 transactions per second, and can save banks 60% on processing fees, and work with the biggest bank in america, bank of america, yea i think its a good buy

So do you send the erc-20 tokens from the sale to the deposit address generated by the exchange?
That I do not know! The ICO always state that you are not to use your exchange wallets when sending ETH contributions. I assume because the exchange wallets are compatible for storing ERC20 tokens. I guess better to confirm with the exchanges how this would work.
