Just watched the EOS Go/No Go livestream today a thought occurred to me. Blockchains are decentralised and can communicate effectively, but the humans involved can't communicate any where near as effectively.
The DAO is not entirely autonomous. Humans need to interact
The Go / No Go call for me was an example of how not to do it. Start half an hour late, no clear agenda, no real chair, no real structure. Not a format for communication and decision making.
In a traditional organisation (eg limited liability company), roles are very clear - usually defined by contracts - and decision making is very formalised and effective (usually)
I've been a member of a non-profit organisation for over 20 years and decision making there is by committee with a voted chair, secretary etc. Decision making is certainly not as effective as it is with a traditional organisation.
What is the best model for decision making in a community? We are changing business models, is there a need to change the way we communicate?
