We supports & strives for Decentralized Community-Owned EOS Block Producers. However, it maybe a difficult task to realize. EOS does not really sound decentralized, when the block producers get elected by the people who has most EOS tokens.

There are about 20 addresses which have over 50% of all available EOS Tokens. So these 20 people maybe able to decide who will be a future block producer (and who do not). The Top 100 EOS holders collectively own 67.79% (677,897,086.57 Tokens) of EOS tokens. https://etherscan.io/token/tokenholderchart/0x86fa049857e0209aa7d9e616f7eb3b3b78ecfdb0

What is EOS.IO?

Source: https://eos.io/: The EOS.IO software, being developed by Block.one, introduces an innovative blockchain architecture. It is fundamentally designed to enable vertical and horizontal scaling of decentralized applications (DApps). The software provides;

  • accounts,
  • authentication,
  • databases,
  • asynchronous communication, and
  • the scheduling of applications

across hundreds of CPU cores or clusters. EOS technology provides a blockchain architecture that can scales to millions of transactions per second. It eliminates user transaction fees. Moreover, it allows for quick and easy deployment of decentralized applications.

Just looking on your totals you seem to have forgotten to exclude exchanges, which per se hold tokens for their clients, at least that's what is expected of them.... Their is a quite comprehensive - but maybe outdated - infographic out there taking this into consideration and we get to the top 100 (incl b1) holding about 37% of tokens

Thanks for guidance and explanation... Yes, I did not exclude exchanges...

Those wallets contain Blockone(10%), ICO(4.5%), Bitfinex(5.5%+0.9%), Bithumb(4%), Upbit(1.5+0.72%), Bianance(3.9+0.7), Huobi(2.9+1.1) and so on. Above 20% are in Exchange and 15% are in Blockone&ICO wallet. Those are not a person and will not vote for same candidate.

Which means other than those, about 30~35% are taken by top 100 holder. It still contains mid to small exchanges.

Thanks for clarification...

At least 13 out of top 20 wallets are Blockone and exchange. I guess 16 are exchanges so they cannot decide BP.
