- Be clear about the block producers mission: Build and run the infrastructure for the community and use all tax income to create that specific value for the community.
- Define how many standby BPs EOS should have and pay all BPs the same basic income.
- Pay each of the 21 producing BPs an additional revenue for production, the same amount for each one.
This simple payment model would
- be perceived as fair and increase engagement
- align the interests of the BPs with those of the community
- eliminate conflicts of interests
- address issues like vote buying, proxy voting etc.
- at least partially save approval voting by allowing to big tokenholders to cast 10 - 15 votes without having to fear negative consequences for their preferred BP
