Dapp transactions surging on EOS!

in #eos7 years ago (edited)

A new monitoring page shows the performance of various dapps on different platforms. They recently added EOS and the figures are enormous! The two top dapps on EOS, EOSKnights and EOSbet together (175 kTx/day) already outdo all major ETH dapps put together (40 kTx/day) nearly by the factor 5!!!

But look for yourself to believe: https://dappradar.com/eos-dapps

All this is taking place, whereas EOS network is still at its lowest level of performance, whereas ETH is congested as always: https://blocktivity.info/

Also the EOS Network Monitor shows very low transaction rates compared to the all time high of 3974 TXs: http://eosnetworkmonitor.io/

Excellent news, isn't it?

Has Steemit 2 launched on EOS?

Soon... ;)
I hope dan is prioritizing wallet development, ram issue fixing, and inter blockchain communication...

I am not really biased towards any particular platform and actually, I think I still side more towards Ethereum, although I really like Dan and EOS. In my opinion too much fuss is created around transactions and its often a sort of a non-issue, as it is not (despite popular belief) the biggest issue towards adoption, rather it is a side utility that must scale alongside UI and custody My concern around DPOS is that it tends to create oligarchic systems of governance where the early adopters and powerful stay in power and accumlate. However developer enthusiams around EOS is huge and if the front end of the project can match the back end then I think we may be in for a flippening. Not counting on it though.

Thanks for sharing your considerations! It's true that utility and easy of use is a critical part, but not sure if i would rank it hire, because first a system would need to work, before you actually start to properly use it. I also see the real danger of oligarchy and collusion in EOS, yet looking at Steem collusion or oligrachy doesnt seem like a porblem, maybe i just overlook it?

Can be hard to stay subjective in crypto for sure, listening to Dan talk I feel like I'm watching the Ancap Albert Einstein, the guy is a genius. Unfortunately, I believe crypto is an industry where hype huuuugely outpaced actual utility (for the time being) and we need to be very patient before gradual adoption begins to incentivize the masses to join the ecosystems of trustless decentralization.

EOS is so much faster than Ethereum. Ethereum can barely run crypto kitties!

Ethereum and EOS have different use case. Ethereum is slow because it has many more nodes than EOS which makes it more decentralized. Besides, Ethereum with plasma will work like EOS.
