I think a lot of the things which people are thinking make this look scammy are actually sprung from Dan learning a few lessons from his previous projects and also trying to make sure not to get caught in any of the newly coming regulations, especially those being pushed out by the SEC.

So - nothing is guaranteed and you're basically taking a punt on supporting the team. Since they've proved they can get things done (we're using one of Dans projects right here), I'd say it's definitely worth giving some serious consideration.
