Hello all,
I just found a search engine that turns 80% of its ad revenue into planting trees in areas that are facing deforestation. It apparently takes about 45 searches to plant one tree.
The search engine is: https://www.ecosia.org/
Here is a video of just one of their projects:
It also has a mobile app!
Please consider taking a look and resteem this wonderful information!
Yeah! I use Ecosia . :) GoGreen
It's amazing! I can't believe I just found it myself. Within their financial documents, they are looking at good amounts of ad revenue. So I hope they can use it effectively and gain even more users. I think they said they have about 6 million, which is not a small user base at all!

Okay! Thanks! I'll keep that in mind.
Ill give it a try!
Please do! I never switched over from Google so quick. I was like "done". No questions asked. I keep actually googling random stuff because I want to see my tree number go up.
I use ecosia for some time now, and it give mostly the same results as google. --> no need for google any more^^
Amen to that. It's powered by Bing though, so it's kinda hilarious.
Also, here is a link to their latest financial report: http://documents.ecosia.org/369415/12834160
They do not pay dividends, so profits are going towards planting trees. You can see how much they paid to each site and go through previous financial documents, which they release every six months. When you look at their numbers, it's actually very wonderful what they are doing. I am so glad that these types of projects exist.
I have been using Ecosia and promoting it ever since I found out about them. I love it! I talked about them in one of my first posts and was just thinking that I should do it again sometime now that I have more people seeing my content. Keep spreading the good word!
I am so happy that more people know about it! I will promote it shamelessly. Lol Now to go see if they have t-shirts. :)
