I have seen greenhouses built out of these. I just don't know about the off gassing, and i don't know how well they hold up to the freezing and heat. I suspect that they will become brittle over a few years, from the UV rays.
That's something interesting to consider. I wouldn't ever have thought of that, as I don't have all that knowledge either.
