Is it possible to set up crowdfunded event organization through steemit? Possibly a reputable third party who curates as a middle man, users can post and upvote to entice bands to play at specific venues, somehow routing funds from those upvotes to the bands themselves? funds accumulated which don't succeed at enticing performers could be forwarded into a number of different pools: distributed by weight to those who do show up to events, given back to voters, could go to the 3rd party curators. Curators could establish thresholds, for example must generate $xxx in order to be eligible to play. This could have the potential to create highly optimized event bills, where events would be scheduled at ideal locations, at ideal times. Bands could pick and chose which events they want to attend depending on whatever generates the most money, or if they so chose play whatever event they can generate enough interest in. Tickets could be distributed through steemit, where a vote is your ticket (on second thought, weighting ticket cost with steam power? greater your steampower, the cheaper your ticket is?)
Any thoughts, concerns, criticism, and additional ideas welcome! Thanks for reading!
That sounds really cool. Probably also cool to combine this with OpenBazaar 2.0 when it comes out.
I definitely foresee this happening in the near future, yes.
