The end of the next generation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Source

I grew up watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I always related to Donnie as the misfit technical samurai. While watching the 80's show now days really shows the age and simplicity of the show, Nickelodeon did an amazing job rebooting the show in 2012. The new show was so good even my wife thought it was fun to watch and she has zero interest in kids shows or anything of the sorts related to cartoons.

I'm the fun dad that watches kids shows and movies with my 10-year-old son. We watch cartoons like TMNT, Guardians of the Galaxy, Phineas and Ferb, and Transformers. I just watched the last Harry Potter movie with him last week and ready to see the new Fantastic Beasts movies with him, the first time for both of us.

While I am not really a cartoon or animation fan at heart (but not against it either) the new TMNT show is amazing. The design and artwork are absolutely amazing, the stories are much more complex and fun than the other series, and the voice acting is top notch. Although I was very frustrated when they changed Leo's voice due to the actor saying some dumb shit in public. I eventually got over it like everyone else.

Mikey is a riot in the new show and is by far my favorite turtle in the series. Even if you don't have kids and you grew up on the turtles, I wouldn't be surprised if you dig the show. One thing that takes a little getting used to is the lack of Cowabunga dude which has been replaced by Booyakasha and jokes that are actually funny. There are tons of pop culture references in the show that always cracks me up. You can find some of them in the one second from every episode clip below.

A few years ago I took my boy (and my wife) to Nickelodeon hotel in Florida when it was TMNT themed. My son had a blast and it was something I will always remember.

As of now, Nickelodeon's 2012 Series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is over. After five seasons they canceled it and started a new TMNT series which in all honestly looks kind of lame. I'll check out the new show but have my doubts. I am not the only one upset with the new series soon to be released. I'll give it a shot but it just looks silly and more something MTV would do.

While I absolutely loved the 2012 series as did my son, we both were like WTF? with the fifth season. While it was fun, it was freaking weird, even for TMNT. It did have some interesting mini-series in it that made it fun but I was pretty confused for a good part of it. I think the main reason was the season didn't really go as a season, it was more a group of mini-series rather than furthering the main storyline. I suspect this was due to a falling out of the writers or something that lead to the eventual end of the series. I suspect if I did some Google Fu I'd find out more about it, but I think I might play some Fortnite instead.

I loved the old tmnt cartoons, they were the best! lolol

check out the 2012 series, it is like a Porche compared to a 2005 Hyundai Elantra

LOL i love that analogy

Turtle POWER!! Upvoted!

One of the best childhood shows for me

The TMNT 2012 series is great, it really did justice to the characters and the story. My favorite series is still the one from 2003, but I loved this one. The new series looks... interesting, I don't know what to think about it either, the designs are different, that's for sure. Let's see what they will do.

When I was a teenager I got to meet Kevin Eastman (who co-created the Ninja Turtles) once. He was visiting my friends Dad's animation studio in Montreal. They didn't animate Ninja Turtles, but they did Heavy Metal 2000, and the main character is modeled on his now ex-wife ,Julie Strain.

Hi @themarkymark, in my last post i got downvoted without any reason from @madpuppy, i know you are very good person and you want Steemit clean, so could you help me to understand what is going on? I am worry now to invest my money again...:(((

Seeing as you used @sneaky-ninja I suspect that is why. @MadPuppy/@Grumpycat randomly flags users of @sneaky-ninja as they did not change their max-age for buying votes as a way to convince the bot owner to change their terms of service.

Ah so i get victim of a war between bots? it is not fairy..

Season 5 was indeed bad since the story was essentially over by season 4 with the deaths of you know who. It was pure fan service of stuff they didn't get to show all this time but they didn't contribute in anything.

Season 4 was also bad for the first half with the space quest stuff, since it had nothing to do with what we were fond of and was basically using time travel to undo the bad, and went as far as making the past turtles to simply leave Earth with no questions asked. It was super lazy.

Season 3 is where the big problems began, since half of it was again the turtles being in the wild and having pseudo horror adventures with nothing we were fond of, before returning to the city and bringing back the status quo.

So yeah, only the first 2 seasons were good, and even then most of the hilarious gag comedy was gone in season 2 and half of everyone had become mutants as the only way for the show to keep having something new happening.

I didn't mind the space ones.

One of my favorite heroes while growing up! Loved the m dearly.
My favorite was Michelangelo :) with the nunchakus :)
Great read man :)

Making such an animation video is really very difficult. Tell me your post. Thank you. ......

I grow up to watch them in every series they produced, they have been wonderful so far. Tump ups to the producers. Great post @themarkymark

Good work thanks for sharing.

The animated TMNT movie IMO was the best I’ve seen, I couldn’t relate to the old tmnt movies but the one. That released in 2007 was probably the best one I can relate to and it was an interesting twist to the story as well. It was dark and gritty, as well a really good story.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of my favorite cartoons! There's not a single day that I missed it when I was a kid.

The new live action ones are so cool.

I was a complete TMNT nerd back in the day, and in that clip montage I saw cartoon references, movie references, and various comic book references (TMNT Adventures, Mutanimals, main series Eastman and Laird comics... ). I have a feeling the writers must be my age drawing from all that source material. 😂

This picture reminds me of childhood

I was watching Ninja Turtles when I was young on MBC3 It was a beautiful day

I LOVE the first Turtles movie. Whenever I think of it, I think of the part where Michaelangelo totally OWNS the foot soldier in the nunchuck trick contest: "keep practicing!". Daang. He TOTALLY schooled him lol. I agree that the phrase "Cowabunga!" could in no way be replaced by something else. That seems to water the show down :(. Great Post! Thank you. Does anyone know when the next big TMNT Show/Movie is coming out?

TMNT is a classic. I also enjoy watching shows with my boys. The cartoons from the past have a moral for kids to learn.

this was one of my favorite cartoon

I loved the original series growing up. Donatello and Leo were my favorites. I've not seen the reboots as I don't have kids or nieces or nephews that are near me to watch them with. I remember even playing the TMNT game on the NES! Great post! Love the Browncoat avatar, too!

There will always be a place in my heart for the teenage mutant ninja turtles, I was a 80's and 90's kid. I've watch a few episodes of this show and they were good, but never had the chance to catch up hahah. Although I enjoyed the first seasons of the 2000's version. I hope this franchise never dies and can have a reboot on the big screen soon (but properly haha)

Also, I dream of having my own children to watch cartoon with them hahaha, I'm that kind of guy too
