A man's word means a lot - but war can change everything.
The gruesome battle at Hilltop left people missing and POWs on the run. As the search ensued, we got some more backstory on enigmatic characters and iconic weapons alike.
Here are our picks for the top five moments from this episode!
Jadis Cleans Up Well
The triple-crossing trash queen showed a different side in this episode. Wearing normal clothes and revealing a spotless dwelling hidden in the heaps, she seems more relatable than ever. There's still something off about her, made obvious by her use of a weaponized walker/cart hybrid. Unfortunately, her well-kempt appearance wasn't enough to get the passing helicopter to land. The Origins of Lucille
All those "don't you touch her" lines finally make sense. While in the custody of Jadis, Negan revealed his beloved baseball bat was named after his late wife. By the sound of it, she gave a lot more to him than he did to her. It was another brief glimmer of conscience and backstory for the comically insane antagonist. He also found someone on his way back to Sanctuary - but who could it be?Carol Saves Henry
We've got to admit, things didn't look good for Henry. Kids don't have a great track record on this show, and the character's sudden disappearance made us think he was a goner. Though his death was teased several times, Carol managed to track him down just in time. In a nice throwback, his hiding spot was modeled after the one used by Sophia in season two.Karma Finally Bites Jared
One of the most antagonistic Saviors in the entire show, Jared seemed to glee in the terrible things he and his group did to others. Though he and some of the other prisoners managed to ambush Rick and Morgan, the building they were in got overrun by walkers. After unsuccessfully trying to kill Morgan, Jared ended up getting devoured by the dead. Brutal, but oh-so satisfying.Rick and Morgan Pull a Fast One
Rick was asked to show mercy if possible before going after the escaped POWs. When they captured him and Morgan, Rick offered them a fresh start at Hilltop - he even gave them his word. After being set free, Rick and Morgan then proceeded to kill everyone. Double-crossing has never been Rick's style. Does this signal a darker turn for TWD's leading man? Rick Grimes may be breathing, but is "Officer Friendly" finally truly dead?
