In 2017, Josh Futturman, is a janitor in his mid 20's at a disease lab, where scientists study and try to cure disease. This is where he works along side Dr. Elias Kronish, an older scientist with an obvious herpe lip, studies night and day to find the cure for herpes. He's dedicated his life to it. It's hilarious. Futturman, while a janitor, is quite the gamer. It's damn near the only thing he does outside of work. Constantly playing this "unbeatable" game called the Biotic Wars. Which looks like your basic SciFi shooter game. After playing it for so long, Futturman beats the game, and from out of nowhere, 2 of the main characters from the game, Tiger and Wolf, appear in their time machine from the future. Not out of coincidence but because the game he just beat was actually a simulator sent back from the future to find a true warrior to help them defeat their enemy.

Apparently, Dr. Elias Kronish finds the cure for herpes, which is what causes the fate of humanity to be at risk. With the help of Wolf and Tiger, Futturman does his best to try and stop Dr. Kronish from ever curing herpes, so they don't have to go back and time and murder little baby Kronish. Because nobody wants to murder a baby, ya know? They jump back and forth in time, from the 50's to the 70's and 80's. Whenever they steer Dr. Elias Kronish away from his destiny, they go back to the present day to see if they've changed anything. Back and forth, back and forth. It's a hilariously interesting story. The comedy style in this movie, I would say, is like that of what you would see in say, a Seth Rogen movie. If you're a fan of Seth Rogen movies, no doubt you'll really enjoy this show.

CHARACTERS:

Josh Futturman portrayed by Josh Hutcherson

Josh Futturman is our main character. The video game obsessed janitor who cleans up the lab where Elias Kronish finds his cure for herpes. Played by Josh Hutcherson, at first I didn't know how to feel about this. It's kind of like how I felt about Zac Efron when he started popping up on all these comedies I loved. I was skeptical, but he more than proved himself. And I'm glad to say I can say the same about Josh Hutcherson now. Honestly the only movie I ever really knew him from was The Bridge To Tarabithea movie. Other than that, never really saw much of him. But, he definitely nailed the role. Had me cracking up throughout the show. No disappointments at all.

Tiger portrayed by Eliza Coupe

Tiger is basically the squad leader. Originally the leader of a squad of 43 other soldiers, she is not like any typical woman you'd see walking around here. But, she does come from the future, which apparently is wasteland ridden, people living in the sewers eating rats and garbage to survive. Both her and Wolf both come from a completely different world then the one we know in the present day. Her and Wolf might be from the future, but they seem to lack the common sense to not cause a scene. However, she believes in Futturman. She believes that he won the game because he was destined to help them save their future. No matter how many times Futturman fails, she is still willing to follow up with every plan he seems to come up with.

Wolf portrayed by Derek Wilson

Wolf is Tiger's right hand man. He comes through time with her to aide the ultimate warrior in killing the destroyer of worlds. He wasn't all that up for it after meeting Futturman for the first time, but he grows on him, slowly. One thing we come to learn about Wolf after he spends some quality time with Futturman's dad, he actually becomes an amazing cook. It's pretty funny. At one point they travel to the 80's, and in that decade is where Wolf really shines. So much so that he takes on a name switch, calling himself Corey Wolfhard and opening up a famous themed restaurant. But in the end, you can't keep him away from Tiger for too long. I mean, what would the show be without the 2 as a team? Not as
funny probably.

Dr. Elias Kronish portrayed by Keith David

Dr. Elias Kronish, played by Keith David, is the herpes infested scientist who comes up with a cure for the disease, which later on is the cause of basically the end of the world that we know. He not only creates a cure for herpes, but he creates the cure for all diseases known to man, which essentially in the future breeds perfect human beings, while the less fortunate are destroyed. I'd say the only real good thing Kronish has going for him is that Futturman doesn't want to kill him. Otherwise, Tiger and Wolf would have went back in time and murder him as a little baby. Through out time, they drop in on Kronish and try to change significant moments in his life to steer him another way, but it never ends up working out for them. Fate seems to find it's way towards the cure.

OVERALL RATING:
4 out of 5

At first when I saw the trailer for this, I just thought that it was going to be a movie. But I'm definitely glad it was actually a TV show. You're able to do so much more and dive deeper into the story when you're not limited to just a couple of hours. I was a lot more into than I thought I would be. One reason I gave this such a high rating was because of the references within it. If you're a fan of the whole time travel concept in movies, then prepare to look for all the references that are being dropped in this show. My favorite one was a reference to Back To The Future. You can't miss it.
