Tarot reading: Major and minor arcana and some details about Rider–Waite tarot deck

Classical tarot is usually a pain to read, because it is complex, contains numerous tiles and suits, requires concentration and focus. Another thing is that there are so many tarot readers, it is almost impossible to know if any of that is worth your trouble.

I would say that the majority is fake as a fake can be, so better put your money away. I will not say that everybody who is charging are the charlatans, but to be frank, if a card reading is legit they would not make a living out of it. They would read for themselves and make millions.

But let's go back to the tarot, major and minor arcana. Minor arcana consists of four suits - pentacles, wands, swords and cups.

This is for example the suit of cups, and it represents emotions in general, element water and summer. In astrology this suit is related to the water signs - Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.

This is another suit, called the Pentacles ( or coins), and it represents the gains, money, sustenance and wealth in general, element Earth and Autumn. Inn astrology this suit is related to the earth signs - Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.

I used to do the astrology in the past, including comparative and natal charts, but I am not all that interested now.

Aside of suit cards of minor arcana there is also a major arcana. These card usually depict some major twist, for in a road or major influence in the reading. Some of them can influence the court cards ( faces) such as Queens and Kings with Emperor or Empress.

Inherently there is no negative cards in the tarot deck, so the Major Arcana cards such as Death (sudden endings), Devil (temptation, passion, addiction) and Tower (disintegration, liberation, danger) serve as the warning for the unfavorable circumstances and the warning to be cautious or patient.
