MY NEW MONTH'S RESOLUTIONS

in #enlightenmentlast year (edited)

Today is the start of September. At the start of last month I had two new month resolutions. To stop using all social media, and to focus on the positive.

How did that all go? Well the social media part went OK, I did totally stop all use of social media for a solid two weeks and most of it I didn't miss at all. Watching the gradual demise of platforms I was recently using, like Bastyon and Blurt, has been uninspiring anyway, and I'd already mostly given up on them, so a full cold turkey was no problem, and I have happily left them behind.

PS - And now I find myself revisiting Hive again - Holy cow it's well developed, but there really are still insiders trying to stop it being used for content creation aren't there? This platform fascinates me, I must admit...

The only one I had an urge to sneak back for a look at was Facebook. In many ways I hate Facebook, so why was that? Mainly because I deliberately avoid all "news" and am also no longer on any other social media sites, so I tend to get really out of touch with the hot topics of the week, and start wondering what the latest mind programming is. Facebook also shows a lot more New Zealand content than any of the of the other platforms, which tend to be mainly full of American crap. But it is really hard to use Facebook without two things happening.

Firstly it rapidly becomes a major time waster, scrolling through an endless stream of distractions. And secondly, it tends to make me feel slightly despondent. Not because of the content so much as seeing first hand so much mindless stupidity.

Even though I do my best to avoid encountering "TARDS" of any kind by immediately blocking them, and by doing my best to only be friends with people who appear to know shit from chewed dates on at least some subjects, the level of interaction on FB is often head clutchingly moronic. As recently as just a few years ago there were some platforms (like Steemit in the early days, around 2016 -2018) where actual intelligent comments and interactions regularly took place. But not any more...

So I don't want to try to completely stop all use of FB because I have to admit, sometimes it has it's uses. But I do want to keep it under tight control. Here are my new month FB resolutions for September:

  1. From now on I won't argue or disagree with anything anyone posts. I will block them if so inclined but otherwise I won't say peep. My only reaction will be a thumbs up if I like or agree with something. And for the most part I won't comment because that takes too much time.

  2. I'll only view FB on my PC or laptop using the FB Purity app so my feed is chronological and all ads are blocked. The feed on my tablet is bullshit. FB can jam their algorithms and sponsored posts up their arse.

  3. (And this may be the hardest one) I will only look at FB a maximum of twice a day for a maximum of five minutes per session. Even 10 minutes a day is still 1:10 a week and put like that, it is way to long to be looking at my enemies #1 mind programming platform.

And now the more difficult part - focusing on the positive.

There is not much point in continuing to point out what is fucked. Pretty much everything is fucked, and that is part of the globalist plan. Getting us to all constantly focus on how fucked everything is, is also part of the plan. I have been exposing this stuff online for nearly 20 years and to be brutally honest, I'm not convinced now that it has helped things much. In fact it may have made some things worse.

So I'm going to have a crack at stopping my focus on how fucked everything is, and instead focus on any glimmers of hope and positivity. That is not my natural inclination, but I feel like that is our best tactic and if the controlled platforms are all feeding us a sea of fudporn, then it is my natural inclination to focus on the opposite of that.

This could be challenging!

If you set your rewards to burn rather than decline, we still get paid for upvoting you.
Decline gives it to the trending page if we vote you.

Will that work OK for my rep? - it's already been brought down to 69 by constant downvoting. The bots like spaminator which also has a 69 rep are not a problem but I a have a few angry whales with reps in the low 70's who start downvoting my posts if my rewards are on. Would setting the rewards to burn work OK? - last time I tried doing a post with the rewards on I got 56 downvotes!

I don't think they will downvote burn posts, it only punishes the voters and not the author.
I'm pretty sure that rep still functions as normal.

Here is my thinking which could well be all totally wrong because I'm a bit clueless about Hive:

If I put do a post on burn any rewards will go mainly to the insider circle jerk cabal's posts so I would be helping to fund associates of the very accounts that downvote me.

The main objective of the whales who want to block me is to take my rep down even lower so that they can use bot autovoting to take it all the way down below zero so my posts won't show. I do have about 20 alt accounts and only one of them has a negative rep so far, but I can't be arsed with these games.

To my amazement, they do actually seem to manually monitor what I post and downvote strategically when they get a chance. For comments it's mainly just bot auto downvoting, but for posts some whales pop up when they get an opportunity.

So just turning the rewards off is easier for me - it's been a long time since I earned meaningful rewards on Hive anyway, and I certainly never will with the current owner/controllers. But that is OK, if this platform could work as a uncensored blogging platform I am interested anyway, hence sounding it out again at the moment.

If I put do a post on burn any rewards will go mainly to the insider circle jerk cabal's posts so I would be helping to fund associates of the very accounts that downvote me.

No.
Curators are paid, and only your author rewards are burned.
Decline gets no rewards, burn takes both curator and author rewards from the pool, that otherwise would have gone mostly to trending, and burns the author's share.

You have been misinformed, do you remember who told you that?

To my amazement, they do actually seem to manually monitor what I post and downvote strategically when they get a chance.

They've succeeded in lessening their workload over the years, but every post gets read, no doubt about it.

I'm pretty sure that decline still gets hit in reputation if flagged.

PS - They always used to take special offense at anti-vax and tranny posts so I've done a quick tranny posts today to test the water

I was looking, you seem to have made quite the fan club.

I'm pretty sure that decline still gets hit in reputation if flagged.

I started watching my rep more carefully once it was coming down, and it seems that with decline on there is no change in rep - mine has been on 69.74 for the past two years, but previously it could be taken down rapidly by whales with higher reps doing 100% down votes.

Comments could be different but the whales have never really bothered downvoting my comments (except for a few where I give them a bit of a poke)

Thanks for your upvotes on my comments, they may help my rep, but I'm not sure, it hasn't changed yet.

We'll have to watch, I'm not sure.
I guess burn would depend on whether they want to punish the people that upvote you, too.
I figure you got the right to say whatever, as long as you burn the rewards.
You should be able to get rewards, too, but not everybody is as pro-free speech as me.
Some are quite censorious, but the worst one got ran off at the fork to hive.
He would have flagged us both for even having this conversation.

Things ARE getting better.

But, how do you take the banks all being closed and everyone losing their money as better?
It will be the beginning of the end of the Banks stealing every cent we own. Using their printing press to buy up everything we had.

We are crushing evil.
But this also means all the structures we rely on each day are going to come tumbling down around us.

And we have to build new ones.

So, we are going to have the worst poverty and people starving
AND!!!
new inventions, clean-continuous energy, AI is actually going to start making computers helpful.

Until last week this now white building was ASB (Auckland Savings Bank) just round the corner - now it doesn't even have a notice saying it has closed!

That is the second local bank to close and I have been told that all but one of our five local bank branches will be gone by next April

That photo is taken on a sunny afternoon but there are already bugger all shoppers - I am expecting the local shops to mostly go bust once the banks close.

Darn, I'm being negative again!

IMG_4541b.jpg

This is both positive and negative.

This is clearing the way to $500 silver and unobtanium bitcoin.
Also, as the little banks go away, so will the big banks. They just don't know they are sewing the seeds of their own destruction.

So, be prepared, and know this is a battle.
Stay positive! This is a battle for your mind.

I read somewhere they were closing because customers don't need as many physical locations as they use, younger generation don't go to the bank like the older generation did.

Ian, why don't you take the payout for your posts? See what happens..

Last time I tested the water I got 56 downvotes.

If they get the chance a couple of whales seem to want to keep reducing my rep. I think it initially started because they were pro death jab, but I did give them a lot of shit and pissed them off a bit.

They may have lost interest now - at some point I will try turning the rewards on again - I'm past caring about payouts but it would be nice to be able to use the platform like a regular blogger.

I'm doing a bit of platform testing this month - I'll do a post summarizing how it goes. Truth is, PeakD is the best designed site no contest, and all the alts have failed horribly, so either way, with rewards either on or off I'll probably come back here.

I don't care about bots like spankinator who have hardly any HP and a lower rep, but my favourite whales have more punch, and seem intent on making sure I don't earn a cent.

I understand your point on the whale boys and their blubber power. Yeah I'm in this to get and give info not for coin. Having fun for as long as we can is the goal.
