- Governor Greg Abbott answers questions about the recurring flood problem in South Texas:
- Work continues on restoring power to thousands of households
- Municipalities continue cleanup efforts to remove debris and fallen trees and branches. Curbside debris pickup is still ongoing.
- On the other side of the border, officials are distributing water, food, and cleaning supplies to residents. Mexico has also suffered from storm flooding.
- National Weather Service Brownsville reports up to 16 inches of rain in some areas in the past five days:
- Hidalgo County has issued a notice that FEMA has still not arrived to provide assistance. The counties in the RGV will announce when FEMA assistance becomes available. Residents are urged to beware people representing themselves as FEMA agents.
COVID-19
- Hidalgo County reports 45 deaths, 287 new positive cases, and a total of 16,275 cases.
- The McAllen Convention Center is being transformed into a makeshift medical center to help battle COVID

- The Rio Grande will reach 1 ft below flood stage by Saturday as a result of rain from Hurricane Hannah.
