Traditional Games of Venezuela -Part I

in #english7 years ago

In Venezuela we have traditional games, games of those typical of a region or country. Which impersonate the games of technology. These games can be made with recycled materials or materials such as branches, leaves, stones, among others.

Among the most popular toys are the perinola, the yo-yo, the gurruño, the spinning top, the metras or pichas, the zaranda and the parrot, as well as the rag dolls. In the group of games stand out the popular sack race, the rounds, jump the rope, the buttery stick, the parrot, the perinola, the gurruño, among others.

These traditional games are the games I played in my childhood, where union, friendship, camaraderie, respect and, most importantly, entertainment and laughter prevailed when some of these games were played or simply in their elaboration.

The Perinola

Game that is approaching the end of the session, where it is only heard as a taka-taka-taka, which is very much liked by the one who goes crazy but who is only heard, the one who knows the most on the stick was the one who won.

The Gurrufio

This is the most played traditional game by all of us who could enjoy this game. Where is the man's competition towards the hardest and most often? It can be made with flattened sheets, with CD, with buttons and the rope with wick, nylon, stamens, among others.

The Papagayo

Game appreciated more by the children than by the girls but both enjoyed a lot, especially when listening for that cry REBENTÓ, and many ran out of this parrot. The word was also rumored, GO TO TARRAYARLO, this meant that they were going to "steal" the parrot from the one that was very high and far away. How I miss those times. It has been made with a bar, newspaper, silk or cellophane, the ends were tied with wicks or threads (my grandmother always lost the threads).

They climbed the hills of our community to fly these parrots and climbed with a lot of friends and spent long hours, no matter the sun only the wind to be able to fly them

If nowadays these games can be kept on the streets of our villages, the photos of my property, but not in the country, do not allow us to give our children freedom.

These are some games that in my childhood and adolescence and spend hours in fun, where we laughed, fought, we returned to content but all in his right mind. Today children only know games of technology because fear and the elimination of the harmful consequences to the integrity of our children can not go to a hill to fly in parrot, or play a whole afternoon in the street of the pelotica of gum, metras, ere, among others. Although I already have my children, he told me about these games and I feel an interest to know and play them, I got into it so that they know him and the multipliers of these games in their schools. And I can get a picture of my property
