I had read a book within a week last month, but after that, I just felt nothing happened and I learn a little from the book.

The suggestions are as follows:
1. Read out loud and exaggerate!

And it's better if you can record your voice and listen to it again and again, that's the most effective way to perfect your pronunciation through imitation and practice.
but why exaggerate, the reason is our memory do better if you do something exaggerated with personal feelings and imagination. And if you can remember the way the author used well, you can internalize it and use it when it comes to your writing.
2. Pay attention to word endings.
Please focus "-ed" and "s" when you are reading the words, cause they are related to the tense of the sentences. if you can pronounce it clearly, it is of great help to speak with fluency and enunciation
3. Pay attention to punctuations
- Pause briefly after periods
- Raise intonations for yes/no questions
- Pause after commas
Why we should pay attention to punctuations, the answer is to speak naturally and have space to think about the materials, if you read in this way, your writing and speaking will be improved so much and so friendly.
4. Highlight words you don't know
Reading is the way to improve your English faster, cause you can learn new vocabularies and understanding their meaning in the context at the same time, but the only problem you should concern is to confirm the meaning of every vocabulary which you are not familiar with and do a regular review on them.
