The growing rise of cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology in the world, has led to the birth of many initiatives to launch tokens, altcoins and cryptocurrencies in Latin America. Although one of the most attractive characteristics of cryptocurrencies is their decentralization, which means that most of them are not restricted to a country or institution, some of them are created by institutions, governments or even, and despite their decentralization, are designed for a specific audience.
DiarioBitcoin presents a list that includes a large part of the cryptocurrencies that were born in Latin America, arranged alphabetically, belonging to Spanish-speaking countries that have started to launch their own digital currencies. Some of these focus on boosting the national economy; others, more restricted, are developed as part of initiatives focused on different national areas, such as education and local adoption of technology. This list, of course, will grow as we learn more initiatives.
