Tacarigua is composed of fishing and agricultural communities located on the island of Margarita. For many years, they have been making paper for internal use and for selling to other communities. The paper comes from the sugar cane has a conical shape, measures about 20 centimeters high and a base of 10 to 15 centimeters. It is generally used to sweeten chocolate or coffee, to make sewed guarapo or raw with lemon.
