Dear Steem community
The skin of each individual has a different composition specifically in the thickness, the amount of fat and the rate of aging. Therefore, it can be said that each skin is individually unique, but in general terms the skin of the man is thicker because it contains a higher level of the hormone testosterone, its thickness and shape are different, since they contain more collagen fibers, these fibers are the largest reserve of moisture in the skin, which generates elasticity and firmness. The decrease of these natural water reserves induce the appearance of wrinkles and that is why in general men do not show signs of age until the mid-thirties. Men produce more sebaceous glands, that is, they secrete a lot more fat which has as a consequence for young men to have more acne or imperfections in their skin compared to young women who tend to have drier skin. The fat in men remains firm as they mature, unlike in women, as it gradually decreases with age.
Note: As you can see in the graph the aging of the skin of men is more premature than that of women but at the same time is less accelerated, since in females once the menopause is started, its deterioration is faster.
The collagen in the male skin is affected at a constant speed while in the female skin is affected late, and especially after menopause because that is where the skin gets thinner and its effects tend to be pronounced more than in the male skin.
The PH level of the woman is higher than that of the man, which could generate a greater deterioration of her defense function against dryness. Similarly, the production of sweat is also different. The skin of the woman is finer and more sensitive and as it matures it requires that her tissues be more hydrated.
In men, aging takes longer to appear in the skin of women; however at the time they begin to reveal it does so more quickly and sharply. The weakness in them is in the area around the eyes, throwing dark circles and dark bags.
According to the above, it can be deduced that the skin of men is harder and more resistant, and can tolerate in a better way the concentration of highly irritating active ingredients. Meanwhile, women tend to have a higher risk of suffering from irregular pigmentation associated with hormonal imbalances such as melasma, so women's skin care products often contain more ingredients to lighten the skin than those intended for men.
In relation to skin care habits, studies reveal that women do not mind using a product for each purpose; on the contrary men choose to use multifunctional products and thus save time in their daily routine.
Here are some tips for men and women to help them care for their skin.
Tips for Him:
- Protect and lubricate the skin before shaving, and do so in the direction of hair growth and not against, also after shaving use products to moisturize and refresh the skin to avoid suffering from irritation.
- Those over 30 should apply night cream on the eye contour to help control aging and prevent bags and dark circles from appearing.
- Use sunscreen every morning.
- Apply oily skin cleanser.
- Use tonic lotions to help control the level of fat without drying the skin.

- Exfoliate the face once a week. This will help to eliminate dead cells helping to get a cleaner and brighter skin.
- Also drink at least two liters of water a day.
On the other hand it is important to highlight which are the errors that usually both sexes commit:
Common mistakes that He makes:
- Do not wash your face before sleeping.
- Do not use hydrating creams after shaving.
- Do not use sunscreen.
- Bust pimples and extract blackheads inappropriately.
- The use of aftershave lotion based on alcohol since it dries the skin.
Common mistakes that She makes:

- Mistreat the skin when handling pimples, pimples or acne.
- Over exfoliate the skin or leave the exfoliation aside.
- Do not stimulate the repair of the skin with Vitamin A (Retinol).
- Bad nutrition.
In conclusion both sexes must first know what type of skin each has, whether oily, dry or mixed, to apply creams correctly. They must have a good habit of hygiene, because you must visit the dermatologist to perform deep cleanings, and to eliminate those unpleasant black spots in the view of all, it is important to visit because it can be eradicated any contamination that the skin possesses.
On the other hand, it is important to always apply sunscreen; you should never expose the skin to sunlight since it has been proven that periodic exposure to ultra violet radiation causes skin cancer. As well as not to try several creams, the most correct thing is to be constant with them for at least two months and in case of presenting any alteration in the skin, suspend its use and visit the physician. While it is true that most cosmetology products have high prices you should never put at risk the health of your skin by buying products of lower price, where quality is not guaranteed and your skin will be the only one harmed. That is why you should keep skin healthy and not make mistakes that can be avoided by being constant and cautious.
