Today's posting is about the process of making boat molds from composite materials.
This mold or pattern is made according to the shape of the previous boat. This boat will be used as a boat in community ponds. We made this boat with the students as the material of the research study. This effort is done to develop or empower natural fiber, especially betel leather into new material. The results of the study show some advantages of composite materials such as strong and tough. Materials are easy to come by and easy to make.
Compossite :
Composites refers to a material consisting of two or more individual constituents. The reinforcing constituent is embedded in a matrix to form the composite. Composite structures are quite common in nature where fiber and matrices are combined source
Pinang (areca nut)
Pinang trees grow in Aceh region, made commodity by society. The utilization of betel leather has not been available.

Resin polyester BQTN
Resin is a generic term used to designate the polymer, polymer precursor material, and/or mixture or formulation thereof with various additives or chemically reactive components. The resin, its chemical composition and physical properties, fundamentally affect the processing, fabrication and ultimate properties of composite materials. 1
Unsaturated polyester Resin (UPR) is a type of thermoset resin or more popular often called polyester only. Resins obtained by buying at the Building Shop in Lhokseumawe, the number of resins in accordance with the needs.
Burlwood of areca nut
The source of jute obtained from the former gun. Hessian is used as the adder (filler).
Method of Manufacture
The mixing process uses a weight fraction with a ratio of 40% and 60%. 40% fiber and 60% resin.
