I always thought it was more, that if it was good enough to post, I should vote for it myself. But it does save me some time waiting for the up-vote to post.... :D

I leave it to others to decide if it's good or not. I did self-vote when I first started and my vote was worthless anyway, then again recently to boost my SP a bit. Lately my voting power is down and I want to save it to help others. I do okay as I've built support over 2 years and 24000 posts/comments.
My vote is kind of worthless, but I vote for good content anyway. It is a lot of fun here on Steemit!
:D
Your vote is never worthless.. it matters a lot. What matters is the act of giving knowing you have nothing.. but the truth be told, you have given a piece of you that is worth a steem..😉

I vote because I want people to know I like their post. Sometimes it feels like I will never get to the point of a vote that will add money to those who so richly deserve said money. it takes so very long to get to that point.
BUT I will continue to post anyway, because there are a lot of good people here on Steemit!
:)
I guess when money talks, people get panic and they all want it.. so let us continue to be on the hunt to find and vote those that deserve it better.. keep your hopes high, good people are rare to find.
The quality of the people I have met on steemit has been invigorating! There are a few that beg for votes, but they are usually just beginning, and I explain to them that content is the secret to success on Steemit. Most settle down and add to the blog pool, only a few remain frantic.
It is rare to find people who are fun to talk to, but I have run into some I really enjoy talking with. That in itself makes steemit well worth the effort! The money is oddly a secondary concern, kind of icing on the cake.
I hope I am helping some people, and I admit they have taught me some things! That makes for a good day!
:)
Very true.. its not that we are selfish of our votes, but we want to give to those who does not ask but have done quality post and good interaction in the community..
I like going around commenting on people i dont even know. In the end, a few became my friends. Thats the magic of communication.
True! Being active means creating post without expecting that it will earn great payouts. Steemit is a hard work, its not an easy peasy pass.
I think most had gone through, there's no shame in admiting that.. what matters now is the realization you had made. It made an impact for you to change. 😊
