Back in the day, I used to enjoy messing around with a certain application for creating algorithmic musical compositions, called "M", first published by, I think, Intelligent Music, and now still published by Cycling '74. In this example, my MIDI orchestra consisted of various instruments, probably a Yamaha TG-33, maybe a Casio CZ-1. Too bad all of that funky reverb is in there. I created the video using Max.

Pretty cool stuff, funky reverb & all. I've only heard/read about M, seems like it inspired a lot of the stuff that's around now.
It was influential. My mentor, Sal Martirano, once told me with a twinkle in his eye that Joel Chadabe, who developed M, once inquired about Martirano's work with algorithms, hinting that it was likely that some of those ideas found their way into M. Who knows.
You never know, seems like it's a smaller world than one might think, so ideas do get spread in interesting ways.
