Introduction

Hello Steemiteers,

My name is Andy Hall. I'm a writer and observer. Writers need something to write about, or at least we wish they did. So, I write about what I observe. I especially like Nature.

Strangely, I seem to see Nature differently than most people. At least, I don't see the same cause and effect at work that we are taught in school. I write about such things as geology, weather and ancient history, with an alternative view about some of the science behind it. I present how I think things work, with a touch of humor and prose.

I have a website: https://thedailyplasma.blog/ with an archive of content. Since I'm new to Steemit, it will take some time to build content here. I will tag my work, 'electricearth'. Please visit The Daily Plasma if you like it.

I also need to introduce my editor-in-chief. Every writer needs a strong willed, sharp-minded editor who's not afraid to take the writer down a peg - make us clean-up word bloat and throw away precious adjectives.

Meet my tough-as-nails editor, Ginger:

For a modest fee of cheese, Ginger makes sure there is nothing wrong in the articles. Being a dog, she has a broader envelope of consciousness than humans, and can detect the subtle influence of bias. Canines understand human's utility for delusion, but are largely immune to it. She is totally unbiased in every subject matter except food and urination. Therefore, she is the perfect editor to verify my veracity.

When I do write about urination, I let her check, but I don't generally incorporate her comments since they simply aren't helpful to humans, often laced with nasty language about other dogs - it's the one thing that makes her mean. When it comes to food, she's too distracted to read anyway.

I say read - she can't read - I have to read out-loud to her, but she has an unerring ear for error. I try to keep her paws off the keyboard, because she tends to write in her words, which are difficult with our alphabet. But Ginger lives the literary life, where seeking truth is king, and that's why her perspective as editor is critical.

Dogs are, more than any other creature, empathetic with humans. They are perceptive to our emotions, our health and where we keep food. They also protect us, and are loyal. Most of all, they know the human potential for unreasonable reasoning.

Given the task, they will guard us from ourselves. This sympathetapersipacity (don't say anything, it's one of her 'words'. Sometimes I can't keep her paws off the keyboard) makes canine editors some of the best in the industry. Many have seen the famous painting of canines playing poker. Few know that is the New York Times editorial board.

So this very particular canine-human relationship - one I think it's safe to say, is founded on canine love and the human's ability to devise tools, such as cheese and sausage factories - is quite remarkable. I'm lucky I can rely on Ginger to take the heat for anything I write.

Nevertheless there are occasional flaws in her rationale, as I found when I began an article on transgender sex surgery. She became highly intrigued with the idea of a sex change to solve a particular problem of hers. When she squats to pee, she wets her back paws.

I suppose the idea of lifting one leg appealed to her sense of dignity. I had to explain, sex change for her would entail the vet removing three pairs of tits. Apprised of the facts, she changed her mind.
