STEEM Cycle Update: Hamster Pod Attached! Now Tiny Hamsters Can Enjoy Electric Bike Rides!

Yes, that's what it looks like. More or less a tiny enclosed sidecar for a hamster, so my little fuzzbros can ride along with me when I go out on my ebike. Not to be confused with the Animal Rescue Pod on the back, used for transporting injured critters. I considered saving this shot for last, but it immediately communicates what the addition is for and will probably grab eyeballs, so it goes first.

Here it is close up, before I added the hamster. Or the kernel of corn for that matter. Hamsters gotta have their corn. If you're a hamster and don't have a kernel of corn, you are truly lost and I don't know how to help you.

Here's the fluff inside for comfort. I considered a little shock absorber for the pod itself but figure that would just make it rattle around like a bobblehead while in motion, and this bike already has generous front and rear shock absorbers on it.

Here's how it attaches to the handlebars, with a universal accessory mount that I modified to attach securely to the pod itself via a bolt. I had to poke a hole in the top of the pod to put a screwdriver through in order to screw it in from the inside, but the hole was easy enough to close up after the fact.

Here it is from afar. The main consideration besides shock absorption was keeping the hamster warm with cool air rushing past. That's why the pod is enclosed, though it has plentiful airholes on the bottom (so rain can't fall in through the top). I could also tuck a disposable hand warmer into the pod on colder days.
