Post election thoughts

  • Trump won by less than 50% of the vote. That in itself is not a problem. America is a constitutional republic, not a democracy. More people would know that and not whine if schools taught actual civics instead of "Janey and her two daddies", "the polar bears are drowning", and other such assorted nonsense.
No, the problem is that there is a floor limit of around 47% of the country that WANTS a nanny state. These folks don't care what kind of damage socialism does, they won't take the time to research, and a good chunk of them want to order other people around.
  • the party loyalty of people that supported Clinton despite her violation of national security law which led to our national secrets being an open book; her sale of American power to Russia, China, and Saudi Arabia; and her open cheating during the election season: this is disgusting. Now you know which neighbors will wave you off to the camps...oh that Steve was a nice guy, but he was a racist and needed reeducation
  • the media bias was obvious. All anti-Trump, much of it lies. The only discussion of Clinton scandals was when there was a chance to rationalize them away. "The Russians did it", indeed. thank g*d algore invented the internet ,(snort), or normal Americans would only have had the narrative presented by the Ministry of Truth.
  • the country club gope trash (gop establishment) took it in the shorts. good. it was obvious that the candidate prototype they have run since 2008, the "moderate republican", was a no-sell. The nanny-staters, already at a floor of 47%, are going to vote for the democrats, regardless of how many goodies the gope offered them. So the gope sloughed off the support of people who would have voted for them to court people that would never vote for them. A theory which makes sense to me is that as long as the gope gets Chamber of Commerce donations, they don't care about winning. Certainly, the donor lists to both the gop and the democrats are the same people.
  • the "missing" votes: in 2008, the democrats won by 7% of the pop. vote with a gop total of 46%; in 2008, the democrats won the popular vote by 4 points with the gop taking 47% of the vote. This time the democrats won the popular vote, but the gop (ahem, Trump) pulled 49% of it. That is about 2.5 % difference. Now, could it be that that instead of creating policy that moves jobs to China and Mexico, then importing foreigners to take the low/no skills that are left over, and then calling the people that have lost their jobs "racists" for complaining about it; that if a candidate actually told those folks he had a policy that addresses their financial problems, that they might come out an vote for him?
  • the malfeasance of the gope in regards to their theoretical duty not just as a check in the checks and balance theory of democracy highlights something I stress over and over; there is almost never a single bad actor or cause in any human situation. For years, I only regarded the left as a problem, but it should have been obvious to me that the globalists were just as hostile to America as the left is. rent-seeking and do-gooding are the scourges of good governance, and the combination of the two is the eventual death of any liberty based system.
  • Clinton is about as classless as could be. She sent the pervert Podesta out to her crowd to send them home w/o a word about her intentions. She should have come out and thanked them in person. But it does clue non-democrats into the cultlike obedience of democrats. The crowd cheered like there was an iota of honesty in his remarks. 30 minutes later, Clinton calls Trump to concede. get a clue, democrats, EVERYTHING your politicians and their hacks tells you is a lie
  • this election is a reprieve, not a correction. that floor limit of 47% of nanny-state voters tells you that opposition to the democrats must be perfect to protect us from another 4 years of "dope and change". I don't trust Trump to correct the system, and I do trust the gope to stab him in the back repeatedly if he tries.
  • if you haven't started to learn about going Galt, you now have some time to learn. Some time does not mean an eternity. If you are civic minded, you may want to check into Oath Keepers. My best hope is that Trump does the things that are necessary, some of which he has specifically set as policy position, and the the gope has learned the lesson of the "missing voters". It would be nice not to have to be paranoid for a while.
  • [Edit] I forgot to mention this is a "FUCK YOU" vote as much as it is anything else. That was my reason to go vote.
  • I probably shouldn't post a pic of Trump smirking, but if you're triggered, you probably are either a sucker for democrat lies, or you want to be a komisar yourself.

Great piece @stevecoins, thanks for sharing! And you bet there was a huge percentage of these 47% who considered it a "fuck you vote" as well. A quite expensive one they all gonna pay during the next years.

thanks for the read and the comment, @surfermarley! I am being a little too contemptuous in regards to Clinton voters, but I am astounded that Trump has been propagandized as being worse than someone whose corruption, dishonesty and treason were so well documented. As low as the public's regard of the media is, that still surprises me.

Once I get past my own bias, I have to note that many republicans are exactly the same way about the republican party, refusing to admit its own betrayal of them, corruption, and grand theft from the public. It is human nature to bunch up in tribal groups.

America lost a mind. Fact!

let me see. 310 million Americans and 120 million votes cast for Prez. thats about 1/3 that voted.

People really dont give a shit about politics, and then wonder why the system is fucked. what the hell is THAT up my ass? obamacare? where the hell did THAT come from?
