They say that it is never too late to learn something new in life, and the arrival of the Internet has facilitated the expansion of their horizons. There are thousands of educational websites out there, but I went a little further and compiled the best on the Internet just for you. So when you feel it is time to take your life in a new direction, start your journey of discovery below:
1. EdX
Founded by Harvard University and MIT students in 2012, EdX is an online learning destination und MOOC provider and offers high quality courses from the best universities in the world.
No matter if you are interested in traditional or contemporary studies, this site will have a course for you. From accounting to business and engineering to niche topics such as behavioral psychology, courses come from prestigious institutions such as Oxford University, Stanford University and MIT.
This site is an archive of original books and documents compiled by several other sites. It is an excellent resource for acquiring knowledge, but does not offer courses or accreditation.
4. Big Think
More than 2,000 lighting fixtures in a wide range of academic, scientific and creative areas contribute to this excellent site. Contains tutorials on articles and videos by Richard Dawkins and Louis Theroux, as well as many, many more to see and enjoy.
5. Coursera
As its name suggests, this site is a series of courses, along with John Hopkins, Stanford and Duke Universities, as well as some of the internationally renowned institutions that offer courses and accreditations. In addition, upon completion of a course of your choice, you will receive a divisible electronic course certificate as proof of your success.
6. Brightstorm
Brightstorm was founded in 2008 to facilitate learning for students and teachers. It's full of useful videos that are amazing to point out when you're stuck in a particular problem. Think of this site as a topic to refer to when you are in a particular area of a course that you are in a different site.
