for those of you that are strong but not smart, START READING AND START WRITING, build your brain
for those of you that are smart, but not strong, do as @valorforfreedom says, and get your butt to the gym
I started a program 3 weeks ago (just got back from a session w/ the trainer), and I already feel more focused and more confident than I did a month ago
I'm damn near 50, fat, and havent been to the gym in years. If I can do it, you can do it.
in both body and mind
good post, Valor
100% Steve.
What you write smells like you got a Testosterone injection which is basically true, working out does that for you.
Like the video, Odin says in the Havamal chapter of the Poetic Edda that one should never leave the house unarmed because danger can be everywhere.
Good job!
I have defintely started appreciating the yoga pants the ladies wear a bit more lol
but you do bring up a good point; some sort of combat training should be part of your daily life, both armed and unarmed
They want us to look!
I always have 1 hand in my right pocket when I am outside.
lol - watch out ficus plants!!!
I mean that I am holding my right hand on a knife.
I don't go outside without it.
OK, that makes more sense. I'd be sorry if I wasn't laughing so hard.
a little later in my training, I'll begin some close combat stuff. Defendo has been recommended to me; any other systems you can recommend, especially systems including knife work, you could recommend?
They made it legal here to carry a knife last year. I did my Happy Dance
Very good question and the answer depends on someone's personal view of the world and reality.
Here is my interpretation.
I think that we live in a society that pretends to look after the individual but in fact that is just an illusion. Intelligence works better in this scenario most of the time. Let us just assume that society does look after the individual , which is great as we are protected from bad people who could hurt us because they are stronger. Then what happens if you are in a car crash and you are just too weak too get your family out of a burning car, or a tree falls on you when you are walking your dog? Yes information will aid you in this situation but ultimately strength would prevail.
Now let us assume that society fails and collapses.' When the lights go out' Brute strength would clearly be an asset as you could defend yourself and the weak would look to you for protection. This is fine until you run out of a sustainable food source or you get ill from one of a thousand things that would be trying to kill you, from disease to wild animals.
Therefore the logical answer is to be the best you can be physically and mentally, but we generally do not do this. We do not 'need' to so our brains do not see it as priority. I am guilty of this , I like to learn so I do, I want to workout but it is hard so I do less than I should. I still do both but there is always room for improvement and getting the balance is a tricky one.
So in my mind it basically should be a 50/50 split and that way you are covered for all eventualities. The next question I ask myself is what is the best type of mental learning to pursue and what is the best kind of physical training. Philosophy ain't going to put food on the table and massive muscles may not help you in a physical confrontation .
The quote from Socrates sums it up for me. He was one of the greatest thinkers.
Total rant from me but this fired me up. Thanks
Massive muscles are a good line of defense and very helpful when everything collapses (more than now).
Intimidation and the ability to put the lights out with 1 clap is very helpful, even today.
What I recommend to read is books that are written by authors with an open mind.
The most helpful book to read when Ragnarök is about to happen is "Might is Right".
Good comment.
Lets add a womans perspective (sorry my fellow estrogens if you have already posted and I missed!)
Intelligence and strength are equally important. These characteristics build and enhance on one another. A well rounded person needs both. Honestly having both makes you attractive.
Intelligence is a given. Everyone (ok, most) enjoy an intellectually stimulating conversion. Or learning new information, concepts, ideas or opinions. Being able to be taught some new and gasp it takes intelligence. Having stimulating banter, etc.
Strength is also needed. Say with needing something moved or accomplished that takes a physical sense. And honestly I like having a man that possesses strength. The safety of that is nice. No one can deny that. My husband is a great mix of both. But importantly to me is that in danger I do not fear. His strength is great and intimidating. I know he would not let a thing happen to us in his stength.
There is also mental strength. The strength to think for yourself. To stay calm in situations requiring that. Mental strength is a form of will power. Also being mentally strong can keep you safe and making good sound decisions. Physical strength strengthens mental strength... does that make sense. Being phyically fit plays a lot on the brain in a positive things and release of happy endorphans. The chemical make up and biophysics of our brains and bodies are co dependent on one another.
So all in all strength and intelligence go hand in hand and are both of equal importance. A happy body is a happy mind.
100%
Good comment!
They're both very important but it's kind of hard to be strong without intelligence unless someone tells you to do physical labor that makes you physical strength. Intelligence and wisdom that comes from experience of applying intelligence is really what matters in this modern world. Staying healthy and working out is important though but only enough to stay strong healthy. It won't help you to keep getting stronger after a certain point but will always help to keep getting more intelligent.
Yes, there is a maximum to how strong one should get, but maintaining that strength never ends, one should always get smarter.
Just like the fictional Sherlock Holmes. Although he did need physical training to accomplish a fair amount of his investigation, so a classic fake example of needing both.
I agree that intelligence is more valued at present, and the strength training / exercising is often forgotten (I'm certainly guilty of that in the past, but that's changing).
Remember your final form.
It's essential to have both. Starting out you lack experience but you have strength to make up for that. One day you will not have the strength to lift weights anymore and you must then replace that strength with a combination of intelligence and life's experience. Such is the cycle of life. Greetings!
100% Onnovocks, by then everyone here hopefully reaped a lot of power.
I hope they do and that they don't get robbed or cheated along the way. For many a community can make a difference on that front, but I'll save my thoughts on that for a post. I will say that our culture is rooted in villages where everyone was needed and not large cities where everyone works for corporations that have no personal stake in a location and move on the drop of a Hat, showing no appreciation for the people that gave it that ability in the first place.
100% agree with that.
That is why I want a maximum of 10 members in the Berserkers, the rest will be guest & friends.
Great advice. Use it or lose it. Exercise the brain every day and the body.
Haven't been near a gym in a long while but the message is starting to creep into my brain. You're right... we need both mental and physical strength to perform at our optimum.
Agreed about the perspective of the author. This is how many religious are damaged by only sticking to one book when there are MILLIONS of books and authors.
Enjoy the icecream :D
We all need to get stronger!
You bet I enjoyed it.
:D
Our world certainly moves with power, money and sex. We must acquire some of these to have status in the society of which we are part.
100%
Super intelligence will give me the ability to be super strong through genetics and engineering and science. Super strength will just give me super strength.
The answer is clear.
In my view intelligence is better bro
Good business, you do not read it, but you are doomed to explain clearly dtub, it's amazing, not many people puntar like you in this world.
DTube doesn't upload to the blockchain at the moment so I have posted the Youtube video instead today.
Great Words to live by!!!!

At the end after calculation we write total every product you mention there and u have closed for me so if l add something its not good
Thanks for taking my eyes viewing this post
If you want to be fighting battles, go for strength but if you want to win a war, go for intelligence. That is why there is script like intelligence report to estimate the SWOT analysis of a situation as the case maybe. Thanks
