RE: How American Higher Ed Became So Dysfuncational

in #education8 years ago

I do feel like universities have an identity crisis recently - are they research centers? Are they educational institutions? Right now they are like Jack of all trades and masters of none (heck, educational sciences fail to adopt and implement results of their own research about education!)

But that's my own pet peeve. I do also see how universities are destroying themselves by pouring money into things that help publicity but do nothing for education quality - the only thing that any motivated student would care about now considering that graduation from a uni doesn't guarantee a job anymore (that, and the fact that companies are desperate looking for talented and skilled young workers, not certificate holders with nothing to show for it).

Sort:

The industry is clamoring to figure out what it's going to be in 50, 25, even 15 years. One of the chapters I'm going to write will focus on the role of the federal government in stifling innovation in education.

Oh yeah, tell me more about it) Maybe I will share some insider secrets the role of authorities here with you when you do)

INCENTIVE!
