the shift has already begun. Khan Academy and Coursera are leading the way.
Non-profit universities aren't anything new (here are some brick and mortar ones: http://colleges.collegetoolkit.com/colleges/browse/institutional_control/results/private__nonprofit_/2.aspx). At a glance, it looks like non-profit university tuition ranges from about $5,000 at the low end to about $40,000 at the high end.
