Publicity department in the theatre

H. Publicity department.
They work with the Director and production team. They are in charge of Designs making, copying, distributing and posting of all advertisement materials for the show including programs, posters, flyers, shirts, etc. They are the tasked with the duty of making the audience aware and also interested in the production. There major duty is mainly to create awareness of the production and also spur the people to come and witness it on the days of production. It may also create awareness of the production through the media by placing news about it in the various media forms available to them.

Note: the role or duty of the publicity department is very important, because as stated before(under Note of the box office department), the presence of an audience is very quintessential to a theatre production, since there cannot be a theatre performance without the presence of an audience. And it is the duty of the publicity crew or department to create awareness or spur the interest of the masses or society to come and witness the production, they are tasked with one of the important roles or duty that easily make or mar a production even before the start of the performance.
